Candy Challenge
-
I'm cooking one now over the weekend, I hope it turns out nice (and that my computer doesnt randomly crash).I am using a concrete texture to bump the candy lol It's been a while since I took part in a challenge.
Fred: Which preset did you use for the first image? I was using unbiased but it was taking ages on dual core!
Remus: You should have changed the T to I

Nice renders, Boo!
Hey Remus, you're render would benefit a lot from a decent studio setup
I like the DOF, though!

Thought of that a couple of hours in but was too lazy to change it. Similarly with the studio setup, thought about it briefly but couldnt be bothered. -
I used the MLT(BPT) preset. It ran for 2 1/2 hours on a quad core.
Nice one remus. I can almost taste the orange vanilla.

Here's a try (Indigo)

Nice one. Did you use SkIndigo's mysterious 'poop' function for it?

Remus, great minds think alike.
SU and twilight, progressive (unbiased) preset #9, 50 passes, 21 minutes.

Because If I used UV Tools -spehiral map http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=10404#p68711, things became complicated. When exporting .mxs from SketchUp, the textures are exported too and if I use that plugin, I have a texture export for each face. I tried at first texturing in SketchUp, but when exporting I had a folder with almost 6000 texture images. And I think something went rong in Maxwell engine, because I could not start the render. Perhaps the allowed number of materials was exceeded, because for each texture exported Maxwell used a copy of the material, with different UV sets.WE REALLY NEED A BETTER UV MAPPING in SketchUp
