      Does anyone know if this program is good for designing buildings? I want to be able to make blueprints and print to scale - similar to Layout for Sketchup, I guess.

        you need something like autocad for that. there are free versions like turbocad but im not sure how well they work.

                  there are lots of packages out there. it is ok to try before you buy ๐Ÿ˜‰

                  i think there is a free version of double cad. much like sketchup. I forgot about that software cheers for the reminder i was gonna give it a go.

                    There is a free version of DoubleCAD, and a limited version of Alibre you can try before you buy also.
