Doesn't FredoScale(formerly Freescale) do off axis scaling?---if I understood your concern.

hi mitcorb yes, i did look - but unless i missed it (usually the case), i have not found possible disabling the pesky ones..

(i'd like to know how many people actually use them)

Actually, on further thought, I don't understand your issue. Do you mean the symbolic xyz that sets itself at the "insertion/ origin" on the bounding box? Can this be altered due to making the component while axes are set to other than the global default?
Or, do you mean the "grips" on the temporary scale box?
Sorry, I am a little thickheaded this morning. But I feel compelled to be helpful after all that this forum has given to me.

edit by the way is the image a confection of yours for explanatory, or is it viewable in the program?

thanks mitcorb, the image you see is from the component attributes panel.

you can access it by right-clicking a component > if you click on scale you will see that you can disable the handles on the 'diagonal sides'. that way you only scale up, down, left or right but... not obliquely (fingers crossed..) 😄

"component attributes panel" I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but what is this?
When I right click on a component selected for scaling I get only the usual flyout - not that neat option panel. It would be really nice to be able to select just x-y. I'm obviously totally green on this area 💚

it's part of the new dynamic component system - great option but you have to do this routine once per component........

the screen appears when you select add attributes from the attributes right-click menu

                    Well, Cadfather:
Your response resolves one of MY symptoms. I have not been practicing with SU7, and I do not have the Pro version yet, anyway.
The reason for not adopting 7 has a lot to do with occasional reported dysfunction with some of the new plugins.
Hopefully, some good solutions will arise soon.
                    Good Luck.

Got it - thank you CadFather. Now I see why it would be nice to have a ruby to get the same dialog.
