Bamboo Pen Tablet
-
I haven't had much to do at work lately, and I was really bored, so I decided to model my Wacom Bamboo pen tablet.
The corners of the tablet itself are supposed to be round, but I overestimated the capability of the round edges by bezier plug-in. When I tried to bevel the edges, I was getting some really strange geometries. Also, the buttons on the pen aren't quite right, but I can live with that for now.
I will go back and change the corners and buttons eventually. I'm just getting antsy to make a rendering of this.
C&C is very welcome.

hi MattHA
Nice model.
I'm thinking in buying wacom too, so can you give me some feedback about your bamboo? does it work well in photoshop? and how many pressure levers does it have? and pros and cons, or advices you can give me?Thanks

lol thats similar to my bamboo!! good work

I have one too (which I've yet to learn to use ). Good modeling. But where's the Bamboo logo on the bottom of the tablet?

Thanks!
David:
Thank you.
I mostly use my tablet for drafting, and it works very nicely. It has replaced my mouse for most things, except sketchup. It seems to have limited functionality as far as photoshop goes. For example, i can't use the stamp tool with the tablet.olishea:
nice! Thanks!

The logo will be in the finished render.

I would recommend the intuos for photoshop. Its fully programmable and has 10 buttons you can assign as well as two touch sensitive strips which you can use for zoom, changing brush sizes etc. The pad itself also has over 1000 pressure levels and ive been using it in sketchup for over two years now and its perfect when you get used to it.

I changed the corners. It looks much prettier now.

You prefer a Bamboo than a Cintiq?
-
This Bamboo is the first tablet I have used. I haven't been using it for too long.

lol im sure everybody who can afford a cintiq will like them better my intuos was pushing it at nearlly Β£400, However ive seen various tuts on the internet in making your own for only a couple of hundred quid here is an example http://www.bongofish.co.uk/wacom/wacom_pt1.html

This is a preliminary render. I like it so far, but there is still work to be done.
