      Hi people,

Does anybody know if there is a ruby out there that can flip the sketchup camera 90 degrees from horizontal vertical?

I would rotate the whole model 90 degrees to fit it in the screen better (its a tall skinny building) but I need to maintain the correct sun shadows.

      any thoughts on this?

There is "cubic pano out" which would let you create 6 scenes pointing the camera towards the (virtual) sides of a cube. It's for exporting panoramas to QuickTime but obviously those camera positions would be 90 degrees from each other. Would that work for you?

Edit: download and try if it fit you here:

I have a script called jsCameraTool that might suite you.

You can move the Camera to any orientation, but it will snap back to "up" as soon as you try to rotate. You could hold Ctrl down to turn off "gravity" when rotating, though.

jim...yes thats exactly what I mean, its really annoying and difficult to set up the scene like that. I'll try the camera tool.

Ah, so you would need a Rotate tool that you can use in place of the built-in one. I believe there may be one or two written already. Maybe called Orbit On Target (oot)?

I should add I have no idea if oot will do what you need...

                Hi

Could you just reshape the drawing window to make it a vertical rectangle?
