Really does look great! What church is it?

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

10 hours is pretty big for a normal render...

                  looks great anyway almost perfect.

p.s. with terragen 2 it took me a week to render a simple image and some people can get up to a month of rendering and it also use multithreading soo i hope they kinda change that...

until then ima prolly gunna use vue for any of my landscape renderings...

                  Some of my 3d

A combination of IES-lights and the render method...

MLT at 21 passes which took about 10 hours.

MLT = Metropolis Light Transport (Unbiased method)
When using unbiased methods, you can let it "cook" over night or if you have the resources available, you can set up a render farm... πŸ˜‰

                        very nice, Bubba!
reminded me of this image I did last year from this thread. πŸ˜„

you could download this pre-made stained glass scene I made to see whats happening.

here's another thread I made with stained glass with test scene

                        http://www.kerkythea.net/phpBB2/files/stainedglasstest_pmfg_fine_caustics_tonemapped_585.jpg

don't forget if you follow Kim's tips above to give your glass a real-world thickness, and it must be completely sealed... like it could hold water... for dielectric glass to work.

there are many ways to get 'the look' if you want faster renders.

Thanks everyone! Fletch, I'm going to try to do what you and Frederik suggested as soon as I can. You guys are life savers when it comes to learning the ins and outs of Kerky. I do have a question I hope one of you can answer... will there be an easier way of making IES lights in the next version of Kerky?

I rendered this image at 4000x2173 pixels, so I'm sure that also had something to do with the 10 hour rendering time...

Chris, this is a church here in NC. We do a lot of work for a church renovation company so every now and again I get to do some models for them. I really enjoy doing this type of work, especially when I get to see the clients reactions... πŸ˜„
