Adding plugins on a mac
-
Im completely new to sketchup, and have to start using it for a University project
I have some downloaded plugins given to me by my tutor, as well as one i have downloaded myself, but i cant seem to find a way of using them on my Mac.
the path i use is - user/library/applicationsupport/googlesketchup7/sketchup
now im pretty sure after that there should be a folder called plugins but there isnt one.should i make one?
where do i go from there?
HELP!! =(
thank you in advance

On a Mac they live in
Macintosh HD:: /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins
(ie not from your Home folder)
-
Use : /HD/library/apl...... This is the default one.
If something doesn't work use the /users/ path for trying out. -
thank you guys, have found the plugins folder.
am going to be a right pain now, and ask, what do i do next?
-
Just copy the files into Plugins.
Depends on what plugins you have, there are some differences:
Single plugin with .rb or .rbs extension
One or more single files with a folder ( mostly for toolbar buttons )
Plugins with installation routine ( Be care of the installation path )After install, restart Sketchup and you will find them under Plugins, Tools,Camera... or as a toolbar which can activate under View

this is easy. the normal place for plugins on a mac is:
HD/library/application support/google sketchup/sketchup/plugins.the plugins folder at the user level is used very rarely by some plugins that install themselves. ocasionally, we put some plugin there in case there is a conflict between it and some other plugin.
