Completed Discworld - Ankh Morpork - Pseudopolis Yard

Another fine one Lyall
-
I have been following the recent Discworld threads with interest, I do not know of the book series but been reading a little online about it and will be getting my boys envolved as they would really enjoy it I believe.
Now I also noticed the architecture is a mish-mass of many different styles and themes, from Gothic to Gregorian, like the above which looks like a Tudor/Gregorian mix, very appealing actually.
I would like if y'all could eventually compile all your models into one scene. -
Hi Solo,
As you would learn from all the thread relating to Anke-Morpork, this is a large city. Infact containing over 1,000,000 people.
I think all would love to see the city built, but really...? I don't think computer technology is that advanced as yet.

manpower can always compensate
...just get a million people to learn sketchup, and model 1 building each, then put it together in another program -
Okay, I've done a little bit more and enough for today so time for an update.
-
Thats great! What render engine, and how much time to render?

Thanks, I use Hypershot and it takes a few minutes to render. I'm just using standard SU materials at this stage.
Heres another update.

I like the lighting you created, looks nice.

Inspiring, Lyall. The level of detail is very consistent so it looks like a real table-top model. Is that a bump map on the roofing? The colors and textures actually work well together as is. Thanks for positing this.

Thanks pbacot.
The textures are just SU standard with some colour tweaking. The Roof looks that good because it's mish-mashed due to the triangulation on the roof and usually it would look terrible on a model but in this case it makes it look bump mapped. Here is the final model at this stage. The front is all complete, but the back isn't. I might get some more imagination at a later date and complete, or if some one else wants to complete it let me know and I'll give you the file.
Oh, and the pigeons are from the 3D Warhouse.
