Posting plugins...

Hi all! I often ask my self these questions before publishing a plugin:
Is it useful to publish this plugin? The plugin I purpose will worth while? Is it really interesting? Will this new plugin polluate again this forum?
Etc etc. What's your opinion on this, please? Thank you!

I've found that some small utility plugin, which I thought only I or a handful of other every might use, turn out to be wanted by a larger amount of people than expected. Just post. You never know. If they don't need it, they don't download it. But at least there is the option.

The answer is easy.... every plugin is worthwhile, I may not need it today or ever but there is someone out there that will need it and get benefit from it.

I agree. If you have something that you've written and it functions, post it. Others might find it and see potential for what it could become with a few tweaks. Chris

Ok, thank you! I thought same thing but with less enthusiasm! I thought same thing but with less enthusiasm!

I think what everyones saying is even more true with the introduction extensions index, as it is so much easier for someone to search through all the plugins. Makes doing a quick check on the off chance someones written a plugin a lot more viable.

I agree Remus too, posting plugin even beta version may give you a quite large test field. As I often think, there are more ideas in 2 brains than in one, what about hundred ? MALAISE

Starting from Jim's SketchUp-Ruby Resources, what about tag plugins by classes ?
For example: Mechanical tools, Architecture tools, Kinematics tools, Geometry creation tools, Geometry Modification tools, Measurement tools, (running out of imagination), but I'm sure there could be a nice group of classes out there.
Having plugins organized by classes, maybe we can extract more conclusions about wants and needs.Regards
 Marcio
