i am using a video capture app (Jing) whose output are files in the .swf format, not the best for sharing via the internet.

i need a tip for an application (preferably mac) that would convert swf files to mov, avi, etc. any suggestions?

      Edson,

If you intend to share the videos on the Internet, swf (flash) format is indeed the ideal. That is the most cross OS and cross browser as well as the easiest embeddable and first of all, flexible and (can be) interactive.

Note that both Vimeo and YouTube (from your other topic) use swf to share online. It's a different thing to keep it good quality yet streaming swiftly.

sorry, csaba, i do not quite follow you. neither youtube nor vimeo include swf among the formats they accept. i tried to upload a trial file but it remained grayed out.

Ah, I see. It's the upload file format.

Anyway, I don't know why they don't allow it since what they do is that they convert anything you upload to swf and display it that way.

Well, I'll have a look what I have at home.
