espresso, first of all, the images you have just sent are outstanding. i especially like the lighitng drama that you captured on the last image. one of my favorite even in rendering.

as for HDR image. i used 3-5 images. some has 3 and some has 5 with different exposures. im noob actually with it but i really want to experiment on this. anyhow i like the quality. i will shot more on this...

i also want to post this link for anyone who want ot pursue this

                  Thanks nomeradona,
I also just discovered HDR, but unfortunately I don't have CS2 and my main camera (older Elph) cannot bracket shoot. I have a Konica/Minolta (no longer in business) A2 digital hybrid that was state of the art when I bought it 5 years ago that I'm going to dig out. It's still impressive - 8.0mpx. 7x optical zoom, Raw/Tif capable, 3 bracket. Now I just need to find the software.
                  Thanks for the link.
BTW - I was reading that where film cameras typically used a 3 bracket format you need to use 5-7 brackets with digital to achieve the same quality.
I guess I'll be camera shopping this spring, but first I need to deal with a clutch and brakes for my other toy - $$$zoom zoom.

Espresso, check the CHDK site to see if your camera can be updated to do bracketing. My current camera, a Canon A630 can´t do bracketing with the normal firmware, but after installing the CHDK, it can do anything.

                      Ecuadorian,
This is a great resource, thanks.
I have a generation before the first CHDK firmware listing. The Camera is an SD200 or IXUS 30 (Euro ver.) The firmware installed in the camera is 1.00K and this shows up in CHDK under the next generation IXUS 40. Do you think I can use this to update the IXUS 30? I don't want to trash my camera but the upgraded features such as bracketing are very tempting.
I bought my wife a Canon SD870 IS ang I might give that a go.
I assume that if there is a problem I can always reinstall the original firmware.
                      Thx.

those kids are from my shcool and some more school shots here. I guess even you are in one place you could still have a lot of inspirations when it comes to photography. the only difference i guess is observation.

this is a shot of my collegues, conversing while we are having break. when i saw that light coming inside the building i took the cam immediatelly and asked them to stay as they are.

this is an underexposed shot by shooting up the fstop value. i think i used f9 here. did some photoshop curve here, to further accentuate the contrast.

The numbers project sounds interesting... it's all about storytelling.
                                      As far as tripods go...
Make sure it's compact, light weight and solid with an articulating head.
Personally, I find the small 'tabletop' models are not that practical, but a monopod is great for steadying your camera and it can be set up in areas where three legs are tough to stabilize. It's like taking a mini umbrella and not a full size one.
                                      Here is an example.

Thanks for the link DE! I'm going to get both in due time b/c I go to a lot of sporting events and the tripod is not ideal for this. I would also like to do some nature photography and I know the tripod would definitely be best for those situations.
