Installation of Ruby applications
-
We are trying to make a version of our next application to work with the Mac.
Does anyone have any guidelines or ideas about how to make a good installation for ruby files and web dialogs for the Mac.

If you want to do the ultimate install, make a disk image (.dmg).

We do have a Mac, but we don't know much about it, so a hint about how to do things would be helpful.

I've never done it myself. http://www.google.com/search?rls=en-us&q=how+to+create+a+dmg&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

If you don't use DMG, what do you use for a MAC application with both Ruby and Web Dialogs?

Hey Al. I was hoping I could post again before you saw my terse update. I was going to expand on my post to give you the info you are asking for now.
Right now, I zip everything up into a single file. Doing this on Windows works fine for Macs. I haven't done the reverse, but I suspect it would work fine too.
After reading the first hit on the link I posted, creating the .dmg seems pretty straight forward. However, I want to go a step further from that for now on, and actually create an installer app as part of the .dmg. I'm now researching what it would take to do this. I would be happy to share it with you when I am done (as long as you don't mind a "powered by Smustard.com" label at the bottom of the dialog...
