Nice Spence. I agree with John, without.
What did you use to render?

I think this is SU (shadows off) + Photoshop.

Thank you for the compliments. Yes I did use Sketchup, then Piranesi for the trees, people and some lighting, then into Photoshop for some other little touches, dodge & burn type stuff. It was done pretty quickly and I never really had a chance to do the step away and return with a better perspective routine.

Oh ya, the sun was turned on but I turned off the shadows on faces and on ground.

I agree with Modelhead. I would expect a facility like this might have 4-6 lights per field (2-4 along the outfield fences and 2 along the baselines somewhere near the dugouts). The renders themselves look good, and the atmosphere definitely feels right. Now you just need some SU people watching the SU softball from the bleachers.

I agree with you Wyatt, the bleachers do need people in them. I never had time to figure out how to quickly place people on the bleachers. As for the lights, I believe there were supposed to be more lights in the locations shown below. Hummmm, oops! 😲 Client may have caught it, he just never had time to tell me. πŸ˜’

Spence, you could always use these:
                      http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?p=18283#p18283

Or, just do like they do in the movies... make a Q-Tip shape, copy and paint different colors, place a bunch and your are done. Since you are far away it would look fine. Just make them real low poly.

I remember on the extras DVD for Star Wars Episode I they did the Q-Tips for the far off stadium shots of the Pod Race scene.

Hey thanks Eric! Those little "Stadium People" are great. I believe they would definitely work for this Bird's Eye View.

That is some good info on the Q-Tip people, I'll have to remember that. As for now, I'm going to give the "Stadium People" a go.
