Looks great. I like the two tone idea, but I think it needs more of the lighter color. What about trying all the drawer faces lighter.

At this point I'm not sure if I'll paint it or just leave it natural wood with a poly finish. Ron

Love your design and the render! I like the natural finish one better..I have always thought it was a sin to paint perfectly good wood!

My original drawing had only drawers and no cabinet but after thinking about it for a few days I modified the drawing by removing 4 drawers and adding a cabinet with shelves. I'll keep you posted on the finished project. Ron
Ron, have you considered, or planned what each drawer/shelf will likely be used for? I find small drawers not very useful - larger drawers with moveable dividers work better for me. Just my opinion, but what I need to store, dust free, always changes.

Here's a long over due update on the cabinet construction. I finished building the cabinet and sent it off to my son to finish it when he has time. I believe he's planning on finishing it with just a polyurthaine. A nice example for woodworkers of the realistic visualisation of a proposed project that can be achieved using SU.
With the animation now available for Dynamic Components in SU7, the opening of the drawers and door could be even more impressive if this was for a customer.If I may ask -
How long did it take to model it?
What settings did you use in Kerkythea for the render? -

Peweuk, thanks for your kind comments. I really can't say for sure how long it took me to arrive at the final SketchUp model. The 1st draft really only took me 2 to 3 hours, but then I spent maybe 2 to 3 more changing and tweaking the drawing to arrive at the design that I was satisfied with. As for the render, all of the setup was done in SketchUp. I used a 2 sided room & floor and added 2 or 3 lights above the cabinet to get the lighting that I wanted. The SU model was then exported into Kerkythea with out change. Ron
