Hand-drawn isometrics to 3d - is it possible?
-
I have been helping a friend design a chair. She has hand-drawn isometric views on paper. Its a fairly simple design so it is easy enough to draw it in SU. But it got me thinking, as it's easier to sketch isometrics than perspectives, a photomatch type tool for isometrics could be useful, not life changing, but useful. Perhaps a non-SU tool already exists?

Hi Gunawan
I don't think Image Modeller can do what I'm suggesting, neither can similar app Photomodeler, as they both calculate perspective. Great for photographs where the perspective is accurate but less useful for hand drawn sketches. But it is quick and easy to sketch accurate isometrics so it would be nice to be able to scan these and translate them to 3D. But the interface would have to know that the image is a parallel view with no vanishing points.
