What a joke, the man is clearly mad.

Nor mad...just megalomanic. It doesn't matter how many people die as long as he can hold on to power.
-
I suppose its a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy really, as the more people he kills the more desperately he needs to stay in power so he doesnt get held to account.
-
He's too old to get held to account. He'll slip like Pinochet.

Fingers crossed he doesnt take his time about it.

Well, well,
I clearly remember all those of a left/liberal persuasion, when speaking of Mugabe, declaring their full admiration and support for him. Similar to what they display nowadays for Mandela. Of course, at that time, Mugabe was fighting the evil white crypto fascist Ian Smith. So, of course, that makes it OK. Right on.
When I, and others, pointed out his Marxist beliefs and his thinly disguised intention of becoming a dictator, we were dismissed as "right-wing" nuts.
What was once the breadbasket of Africa has now become a basket case.
Congratulations to all those simpering left/liberals without whose help it couldn't have happened.
Well, I take great pleasure in saying I told you so!Here is another "right-wing nut" prediction for you.
The same mess and probably much worse is going to take place in South Africa.
Just wait until "Saint" Mandela dies and the almost insane Jacob Zuma (or others of the same ilk) is in power.
Sit back and watch as old tribal loyalties come to the fore with the usual decline in to chaos that follows.PS:
In 1961, Mandela became leader of the ANC's armed wing "Spear of the Nation".
He waged a guerrilla war in which many civilians became casualties. He was a terrorist who killed innocent people.
But his cause, according to the liberal/left, was a just one.
So today they regard him as Saint Mandela.
Almost makes me want to vomit.Regards

Mr S
I am a bleeding heart liberal here in the states, I am also a South African expat.
Facts are facts, Mandela was a terrorist and rightfully jailed, there I agree with you. I never left South Africa during the 'chicken run' as they call it (When ANC took power) I left to better myself as being a white male meant 'aparthied in reverse' as affirmative action grew opertunities decreased.
The phrase used is "Uhuru" or something similar, when Mandela dies all bets are off and the whites will be exterminated from Africa... such goes the rumours. Who knows, I hope not as my parents live in Johannesburg. I can say that nothing will happen until after the next world cup soccer when South Africa hosts it and that as we know is a big 'ching-ching' in the ANC coffers, and now with the split in the party there may finally be a two party system that may stabalize the country.
As far as Zimbabwe goes, Mugabe is a F*ckhead and deserves to be assasinated, too bad the ANC have no balls to stand up against him, Mandela too shuddered in his company, only little 'ol Tutu had the balls to call him out, and for that I respect him, even if it did alienate him from the ANC.
I am happy George Bush finally said something, I hope Obama now does something (they have no oil unfortunatly) and gets to the end of this bastards dispicable behaviour which IMO is 100 worse than Saddam Husseins transgressions.

Hi All,
It's a sad state of affairs to see the country and its people being brought to this level by a madman. The quicker he is removed the better.
I think it will take many African countries a few more generations before they will be able to self govern with some form of democracy.

If there are no precious resources involved that threaten the global economy, the UN seem to be totally inert. They don't react to thugs until their atrocities have escalated to near cataclysmic proportions and can't be ignored anymore. Probably too much redtape.
Radovan Karavich got away with it for years in Yugoslavia.
