Buying a new dell
-
I looked through the hardware recommendations and couldn't find what I am looking for. If any of you could help me out on my question I would really appreciate it.
I am getting a new computer and would like it to be a dell. My budget is around $800 or under $1000. What computer configuration for a dell would be the best to run sketchup and kerkythea programs for this budget?
I hate to start a new thread for this but just having a tough time finding out this information.
Thanks again.

Essentially youll want a high clock dual core processor (intel core 2 duo 2.66Ghz, or better if you can afford it,) a decent graphics card (nvidia preferably) and 4GB of RAM.
If youve got any spare cash after that its probably best to try and ramp up the processor a bit (might even be able to get a quad core.)
oh, and dont forget to always order from the business section of their website. Everything is cheaper from there.

I am not sure dell is the best for that budget.
They have Xeon, but on higher price.
On middle range, I bought recently for 800€offtaxes a core-duo-3.2ghz, nvidia-gtx280-1Mo SLI-HD-500, 4MoRAM which is our best with speed.
For this configuration Dell was double price.

Jahogs, where do you live? The reason for asking is if you are in the states (depending on location) you may be able to get a great deal from a retailer on a rig that will fit your needs and wallet.
I must agree with your budget a Dell may be very restrictive.Take Fry's for instance : http://shop2.frys.com/search?cat=-59318&pType=pDisplay

Thanks for the responses guys. I live in Arkansas. I am choosing Dell just for the simple fact I can finance it through them and pay on it monthly. I'm sure other manufactures do this but I am just not for sure.
Thanks
