Cutting a Model
-
If I have a complex model can anyone tell me the best way to cut it into half?
I have a ruby that can create a section plane, but the section is an effect, not an actual cut in the model. Is there a ruby for this, or is there any way to so something like a Boolean subtraction in SU? -
You could try making a group from the slice (right click) and intersect with model, then delete unwanted half

Mbntex,
(if you don't want to "delete unwanted half")
Cut that model in 2 or more āpiecesā and combine them using XrefManager.rb:Start w/ base piece and go to āXrefs Toolsā¦ā > āAdd Xref Componentā

I think we really need a 'rude bastard' category for people who don't at the very least acknowledge replies, so that other people would know and then choose whether to help them.

Baz to be fair, he asked the question on Oct 5 and you answered on the 13th. He may be long gone and not aware that you answered.

Hi susan, yeah, ok, fair cop. But it does seem to happen a lot and it defrosts my kelvinator when i see people abusing the fab community we have here.
Have you noticed the odd comment from new users about how different this forum is from most others? From my limited experience with other forums it's certainly true.
Now while Id would'nt like gscf to go the way of pushpull bar, some sort of formal credibility rating might not go amiss.
On the other hand Im getting just like the other old farts that I despise so heartily. So forget all that.
Let it carry it as it does and let entropy take care of those who do not appreciate it.baz
