i seem to do a lot of competitions for buildings in Brasilia. this was done in 2006 (and not that great as i was just startin to use it). the 3D images i sent in were either straight SUp or very bad renders done in renderworks (the rendering module that ships with vectorworks). now that i am getting the hang of podium i decided to have another go of it.

        Edson,

Great images again and quite a well equilibrated design project.
Nice volumetrics. The proportions of the volumes really give a sense of peacefullness.
That's quite the cantilever at that entrance... 😄

Edson do you mind telling me the settings you used in Podium for the glass, or explaining your method?

When I tried Podium, that was one thing I struggled with, getting nice looking glass. You seemed to have achieved this very well.

                dylan,

the glass i used is gray with opacity at 15%, reflection 45. nothing more than that. there is no method other than that.

Yeah, pretty impressive, I think, Edson. I looked over your web site and admired your many works. You've been a busy boy, haven't you?

Thanks Edson, I shall give those settings a go and report back!

Very nice building, it will look nice while it's new at least. After that it might get tricky. 😄 The renders are top-notch.

thnaks, guys. you've made my day.

unfortunately for me, this is a competition project that will not get built.

Wow that was great! I didn't quite like you last set but this set is fantastic! Shame you couldn't use these for the competition. I really like the thiness of the concrete walls and louvres. The building sit on the ground very gently and with finess from a distance. Hard to achieve with concrete buildings. I love it. 👍
