Will pay someone for creating drawings
-
I was referred here by Rick from Smustard, I am looking for someone who might be interested in creating a CAD model/drawing for me for a lounge chair patent application I will be making,I do not have the computer acumen to create it myself, if anyone there would be interested please shoot me an email so we can discuss the item.

You need someone experienced in illustrating for patents. Maybe you should discuss this with your patent lawyer.
You might get great help here otherwise with conceptualizing, but only some will be able to do a proper patent drawing.

I once did a patent drawing for a client. It was a 2d mechanical drawing with plan, elevations, and sections without talking to his lawyer. He got his patent and the drawing was never a issue. Any architectural or engineering draftsman should be able to do it. This however, was a few years ago and the requirements may have changed.

I don't mean to throw water on anything. It's just that patent drawings have a particular methodology. I've just been told by a patent lawyer that a drafter of a certain expertise is needed. Maybe other drawing styles are actually accepted. Here is an example of a conventional patent drawing. It's not a very high quality image but gives the idea.

Guess I stand corrected. I did the drawings for free, and maybe it was never used. Perhaps redone by someone else. According to what I just read elsewhere, even the paper the drawing is on may be specified. Go here for help: http://www.PatentDrawings.com

Patent drawings are not for the faint of heart. I did some a while back (in my cad days) and lost my a$$ on the job. They are very specific on the style, paper, text (font), etc. The drawings actually took me far longer than expected (came back 8-10 times and not due to anything other than not "looking" they way they wanted them). They may not even tell you what needs to be corrected (they say you need to know). I learned that I will not be doing patent drawings again anytime soon. A few pieces of advice...do you homework. Get ahold of the patent office you will be submitting to and see if they have a book of standards they want you to follow. Bid the job about twice as much as you think (you will be revising it many times for the smallest of corrections). Good luck.
