Terrain renders

Here is a three second rough animation setup of the camera tracking for final animation, notice there are no trees and textures here as this is just to get camera setup for final scene.

I would love to see the rendered animation when it's done.
Are you going to do it in Vue? Vue has this option to animate wind effects as well right? The second still (the one with the sun glare/flare) is stunning!
A question while I am here: Were you on the Vue 7 beta team?
-
Yes there is a 'ventilator' option for adding wind to animation, I will be using it in final render to track the camera and give a little breeze to the shrubs as the camers/car passes for a more real feel.
The vue 7 beta testing is taking place at moment, i cannot say too much as there is a nda, however what is common knowledge is that it will support interiors a lot more, besides having an option to work between Max, maya and XSI including using Vray render options while still in the Vue or other softs GUI.
Chipp walters is the guy to speak with as he is in thick with the e-on crowd. -

Cables are come back on the animations
Cool landscape
Vue will be the new task of the next year? -
And Vue 7 will support Vray ?
Looks like I will need to save money for a new SU-->Vue7-->Vray workflow. -
Here is a demo from Siggraph 2008, shows Vue modeling and then rendering in Vray for Max, 3rd video down

That's exciting! I was reading about the cloud and water enhancements in Vue 7 as well. It should be a real treat!
-
This is just a fast render, 145 frames at 56 seconds per frame render time. No complex atmospheres, fogs, wind, reflection added yet.

Looks great, Pete. How long did it take to render? One computer, or did you use render bulls/cows?
-
Thanks, about 16 minutes on two quads (using hypervue network render)
-
I really love the output of VUE, is it difficult to work with? The renderings looks really great.
-
It's hard to say, if you are used to apps like Max, Maya, etc you may have a little getting used to as the GUI is a little different and the terminology also unique. The function editors are all node based which at first i hated until it just 'clicked' and now I love it.
Creating materials and functions onto those materials will take some learning as well as the animation controls, there are just so many options that at first it's intimidating. Try have fun and learn at a comfortable pace, do not do what I tried with Modo by watching every damn tutorial until I was saturated and now the Modo logo even gives me a chill. -

lol!!!!!!!!!!
The "above illustration" works really well. Your client will be pleased, I suspect.
-
great stuff! Would be more realistic when you see a car's dash, seat and roof frame in the foreground with the shot?

Both good - but the first one's excellent. What's the size and render time?
