Kwisten,
Great animation of an old classic. How long did this take as a matter of interest?

Thank you Stan.
Each animation frame took 1.5 minutes each.
So for a 20 second animation @20fps, the whole thing rendered for 10 hours. -
Great one Kwist What I really like about this is the use of multiple segments rather than one long journey (as I did in my animation). I reckon su's camera motion will be easier to deal with in multiple short segements. Would still like to see how LightUp really handles scenes like these though, 10hrs vs 1min

Looks cool! Errrr ... you got an unbelievably high electrical bill, don't you? (I do.)
-
Looks kool biebel. What post processing program do you use to put that all together? And what rubys do you use for the camera movement? And stinkie....does it really have that much of a toll on your electric to let renderings run?
-
cool and those trees are great. love the water.
-
Thanks guys ,
@Steeler: I use Virtual Dub and sometimes After effects.
@Stinkie: I wouldn't know about the electrical bill. They charge a fixed amount every month and only after 1 year they recalculate the amount according to usage so maybe I'll be surprised by then? Tell me, did your electrical bill really got more expensive just because of the octo-core doing its job?
@Princedragoncock: Yes, Sketchups camera is a pain to control in animation (not smooth). Hopefully SU7 will adress this (but I don't expect it to be fixed though). Whaat has a working proof of concept to get smoother transitions but he hasn't released it yet...

nice render biebel!!
-
Yeah Biebel ive been messing with after effects too... very powerful tool. But did you download or purchase any rubys for camera paths? and even simple object animation?
-
Yes, I use SU-Animate, but only when doing objevt animation.
Using flightpath2 or Su-animate for camera paths is nice, but I would prefer a way of setting up the camera more WYSIWYG, meaning starting from setting up the scenes like you would normally do and than you get options to change the path that would be generated automatically.
Unfortunately such a script does not exist yet...

It was nice to have a path/camera memory in couple with the space navigator.
Start recording, fly through the model, stop and play it again,Sam
