here is a WIP of one of six images i need to put together for in interior designer redoing the finishes (yech) of this country club... modelled from a plan and some photos.. furniture is alot of formfonts and modified formfonts (chairs)....

trying to overlay the maxwell image with a few layers of sketchup linework...added a little more grain and adjusted the levels and went for an oversaturated look... still need to add more lighting to the scene..

    looking for thoughts/advice..thanks.

Jason this look sweet... I've started to overlay the sketchup line work on a lot of my PR renderings even though that kinda defeats the purpose. Great stuff brotha... can't wait to see the others!

I really like this too. Great work.

There seems to be a bit too much yellow IMO. Maybe the over saturation you were talking about.

          HOT HOT HOT !!!

You know I like the saturated colors, but I think this one would be more powerful (hotter :`) if there was some depth que to the color...ie. quieter to the back. IMHO

Still: Likey Likey! (and I'm bettin' an interior designer will disagree with me and love as is...?)

            thanks guys...

eric, yeah the color is probably off a bit... i really really really need to calibrate my mac and pc monitors.. my buddy has a Spyder..but i always forget to get when i'm in nyc.. if anyone has any good programs to recommend...lay em on me.

thanks tom! appreciate that.. i'm definitley up to try to tone down the color in the background... any tips on how to achieve this? i'm sure you've got alot of tips after all of your experiments πŸ˜„

Looks fine to me, but I do wonder what your motivation is to overlay Sketchup output over a PR Maxwell rendering.
Actually I do understand as it emphasizes on being a design, but I think I would have chosen a pure SU line drawing to overlay (a wire or B&W ).

...just for the hell of it, client isnt necessarily looking for photo real and i figured the maxwell image would show alot more depth than just a plain sketchup image.... and if you saw the pure maxwell output..it doesnt look very PR....lol

so you're saying a less 'sketchy' overlay? b/c the over lay is pure sketchup.. i forget the style name.. but 100% sketchup... added a little grain, saturation, and contrast in ps though..

Jason...after some food and a couple hours of inane tv I like it just fine as it is: plenty of depth and a really (really!) pleasing graphic quality.

But, since you asked...I've been playing with two free DC Layer filters: Mergency4 and SideMerge. Basically you desat (or alter however) a copy of a layer; the filters make the layer progressively transparent from inside/out, outside/in, or side to side in any direction from any starting point (lots of control); then you can further adjust the amount of change using its layer transparency.

thanks tom.. i will definitley check those out...

my friend is supposed to be sending me his Spyder callibrator to straighten out my monitors...so images dont come out so horribly yellow as that first one..haha..

here is the next image... has a slightly different look from the first...let me know which is better..

the wood grain has rotated 90 degrees everywhere from the sketchup model...so need to address that.. and def need some more lighting by the bar... not sure what is up with the shades of the sconces..

Jason, these are really beautiful. Great job. I was surprised to see a "finished" rendering post from you! You are always telling us your clients don't fork out for the finished stuff πŸ˜‰ Shame on them, they've been missing out!

The second one is the best of the two.

Edit: I meant the last one is the best. Looks good.

i really thought those are windows behind the bar if you didnt call them mirrors.
i love this style, just like a real sketch.i never try that before, but it is definitely a good idea to balance the real photo and pure sketch.

here's one more..has some issues... yellow again..and the carpet is way washed out.. i think this has to do with having to deal with the sun and exterior lighting, like the first.... and the reflection in the mirrors behind the bar is way too clear...have to roughen up that mirror or something to tone it down..

Sweet renderings Jason! The line work you chose for the last post seems to be too strong IMO... and what's with the piano color?
