I have never left the Groups, Stu. Rgularly posting there (as well as at the "Free Groups").
As for myself, I feel comfortable at all three places. If one doesn't feel comfortable at any of them, I cannot help.

It's in the User Control Panel > Friends & Foes.
As the FAQ says, "If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default." AFAIK he/she cannot even PM you then.
I wonder what happens to a topic once a "Foe" starts it - maybe you cannot even see that until someone responds.
I cannot try it for as an Admin I ought to know what's going on the board.

Just did a quick test, and all posts by that person are hidden by a little 'this person is in your foe list- click here to show this post.' thing, so im guessing if that person were to start a new thread you would just get that inside it.
