3D Warehouse upload problem
-
When I try to up load my SU model I get a warning and upload stops:
“Internet Explorere cannot open the Internet site [file://C](file://C):\Documents andSettings\Laniers\Local\Settings\Temp\skp2.tmp.”
Any idea what is going on? -
From inside Sketchup...set the view of the model that you would like captured
What I understand about image to be captured is to just place the model the way you like to be seen, than connect to Warehouse. No special action needed by the sender. Is this what you mean? I tried that without success.

ridix,
The file location referenced in your first post is your Internet Explorer 'cache' folder. You might try deleting all files in the cache, before you try the 'Share' from within SketchUp.
Open Internet Explorer, and select 'Tools > Internet Options... > Delete Files'. Then try your SketchUp 'Share'
(I'm uncertain that this is the cause of your problem, but it's a possibility.)

I tried that Delete File method without success. I got the instruction form this thread. He is getting exactly the same error message! I guess I am not dreaming this stuff up.

So I checked the directly to find where this \Local\Settings\Temp\ directory is, and found that it doesn’t exist! It is not there. Not in any drive. The tmp file cant be found either. I don’t know where SU is getting the directory or writing tmp file out.

Actuary my model did upload. I check the warehouse and its there. It just didn’t become available on Google Earth automatically. SU upload has some type of stop built in to it for newb, I think. It’s up for review.

Ahha. That's the problem then! Noet that SU files (kmz files for GE) neverimmediately and automatically become parts of the default GE 3D Layer. There is a quality control first of all (and considering the amount of the uploaded models it can take a while for the QA Engineers to go through them) then the layers are only updated from time to time, not constantly.
