Flip for 3D Basecamp 2008
-
Hi Guys,
I've noticed a few posts here and there from guys that were
not successful with their 3D Basecamp lottery applications.I have been thinking about ways to bring 3D Basecamp to them,
maybe here on the Forum via YouTube!I'm no Steven Spielberg but I would like to give it a go and
maybe even have some fun while doing it.I have been looking up ways to do this and at the same time
keep it idiot proof (for my sake ) I could go with a cam
corder or a high spec camera / video phone etc but I think
Murphy's Law would more than likely come into play. Also it
would be nice to have a device that could be utilised in a
couple of seconds.I came across such device called the Flip Video Ultra which
just might be all I need apart from my laptop and an internet
connection. It seems to be a very basic video camera that is
geared towards YouTube output and by all accounts it does a
pretty good job of it. Hey! Paris Hilton every has one .....
Mmmmm, don't say itSooooooo ..... the plan of action would be to start making short
clips possibly from the very start of the trip, Shannon Airport!
Then on the New York, San Francisco and the hotel in Mountain View,
then Googleplex and 3D Basecamp.I cannot promise high quality interviews or video but I feel it
will be possible to pass along a flavor of 3D Basecamp 2008 to
the guys that are unable to make the trip and maybe even bring
a little smile or two to their facesAny comments / suggestions / advise would be much appreciated.

I was planning on uploading images and clips to a dedicated Picasa album as often as I could...however, if it comes to playing reporter or actually learning something new and intricate the uploading will wait.
Come to think of it...this is Google. Why can't they manage to put up a constant stream of vids and snaps? That is their forte and obsession these days.
