Spring Curves
-
A spring inspired SketchUp virtual sculpture. We've been having rainy and cloudy weather for much of the past week here in NY, but there was one afternoon last week when the sun came out and I was able to take a bunch of pictures of spring flowers for the interior curves. Anyway, I'm calling this thing done... although maybe it could use just a bit more yellow from tulips and forsythia...

very interesting abstract sculpture and as always things to learn

Thanks majid. The major new technique I was exploring here was getting the curves as smooth as reasonably possible. This required using image guide templates and a lot of drawing, moving the model, drawing, moving the model, etc.. It is a fair amount of tedious work but the result is quite smooth curves. A higher-resolution version is available here which shows the smoothness holding up pretty well even at higher resolutions.

Fred,
You have quite a lot of patience and a wonderful imagination.
Keep them coming. I sit here and smile.
Thanks,
Allen
