Really kinda scary huh? One thing about that Scion- the rear view mirrors are totally useless. I understand artistic license, but that is ludicrous.
Actually, I hate outside mirrors- no way to make them look good and be functional. -
. . . this was supposed to be a limo . . . turned out looking more like an EMT vehicle . . .
-
a lil boxy don't you think?
-
Wow-- I'm at the "current" end of the thread! What a read this has been! All through my school days I drew 2 things: girls and cars. That was a long time ago.
I'm old now, and STILL fascinated with those 2 things. One thing I'd like to see you do is draw some designs based on the classics of the thirties- the "streamlined" "art-deco" era. Cars, that is, not women, unless of course, you have some Sketchup techniques that are not documented.
Example.............
-
. . . little boxy? Yes, but hideous is a better description . . . here's another quickie - playing with the front bumper just a little bit . . . I tried an older 911 yesterday - it turned out looking like a lump of clay that got run over by a mime riding a unicycle . . .
-
. . . not visually stimulating . . . just trying a variation of a technique for creating the transitions between surfaces . . .
-
Are you referring to this . . .

β’ Criminals are buying and selling people's identities online
If so, thanks for the head's up . . . time to get out fast while there's still time . . . BTW, anyone want Coen's ID, including at least one valid CC#? I have it listed on eBay - buy it now for only $99 (no shipping)
-
. . . and the first car of the day . . . which will probably be my last for the next several days . . . I'm already having SUSA (SketchUp separation anxiety) . . . . . .
-
. . . these pillar proportions are way off . . . I don't remember if I posted this one yet . . . they're really "generic GreenToaster" looking . . . (yawn) . . . time for branching out is way overdue, I think . . .
Happy Sketching,
Brad

I think the yellow one should be posted to have another Green Toaster moment, by modifying it and adding details in various ways
and maybe you should consider changeing the thread's name...it's been a long time since your cars looked boring; rough, unfinished YES, boring NO! -
Thank you Marian for the kind words.
Here's another quick sketch . . . just another idea, a slight variation of car body shape . . .
-
. . . wheel stuff . . .
-
One of the many things I love about SketchUp is the ability to make quick changes - to try a bunch of "what if's" . . . here's another quick idea with a few "what if's" shown . . .
-
. . . blah, blah, blah . . .
-
. . . a little tweaking here & there . . .
-
Ah!!
Looking good, now add the fine details and you got yourself a sweet looking ride.
-
Try to really finish this one it looks great!!

Thanks guys for the kind words. I was actually in a "disgruntled" mood when I made this one - maybe that helps to develop a little creativityOkay - I'll do my best this weekend to learn enough about Kerkythea and render it. Until then I think I lost the file on one of the student machines in the classroom but I can recreate it . . . maybe it will take me a little more than six minutes to redo this one
I'll rebuild it on Friday, add mirrors, body panel & door lines, blah, blah, blah, then hopefully, render it this weekend - promise this time, k?
