    Determining 2-d component axis?

      Practicing Landscape Architecture. For lack of suitable shrub and perennial components out there, I wish to create my own library of 2-D plant components of plant materials that will prosper in my climate zone (Indiana - zone 5).

      Turning a photo into a 2_D 'face you' component is no problem, just don't know how to set myself up so that the I can control the point of axis on which the 2_D component rotates. Guessing this info has been discussed before, but not sure how to search for it. Any thoughts on the matter will be appreciated.
