    A lot of work left to do on this, but progress so far...

    SU models. And a load of painting in PhotoShop.....

                    Nice matte painting there...

                    Watch out for your black levels, and this will be great.

                    Did you paint over the raw SU output, or was some rendering involved inbetween?

                      Thanks Alex. Yes, it is looking a bit over-saturated in parts. I'll work on that.
                      This was a SU model. I roughly (and I mean roughly!) applied some basic textures in 3dsMax, and lit them from a single source - just to establish the basic shadow areas. Then into PS, where most of the textures were re-painted, layered etc - only tiny bits of the Max render are still visible. Would almost have been easier to go straight from SU to Photoshop, but the Max renders gave a good guide for the texture wrapping around the cylindrical shapes.

                      Will keep working on this and post progress...
