Some Podium work

Actually I think you're right - don't ask me how I know that
-
Don't ask me, but sounds familiar for me..
I thought that the rain was something new what solo was testing
there was more in the podium forum. -
The rain is quite a nice touch, gives it a more realistic feel. Love the hippie sign...

Fantastic! Do you have to "paint" all the wet reflections, or does the program do it? How long did this take to cook?
Thanks for sharing, Tom.

Hey guys
Sorry about the delayed response, I seem to need a map to find my way around this forum.
The render took 12 minutes, the floor has a reflection of 62% and being a night scene a little noise added in PSP and a rain mask and it was done. The model is of a factory in Cape town ( original model by silver shadow) I was using it to test Podiums ability to handel dirt maps and lighting levels. (the original is a new building)
Thanks for your possitive responses, There are many fantastic artists on the Podium forum and I hope they post thier works as they really are great. Thanks for giving us a spot here to show our work and the great tools we have to achieve them.

yeah i hope there will be some others who will post their podium rendered images.

I attach a couple of Podium renders I did...
While the stair one is nothing special I did like it. I certainly wouldn't consider it as a 'finished' rendering. It is typical of how I use Podium -- just to get a quick visualization when I'm designing -- ones I hope will inform the design process. I tend not to show such 'quickies' to the client. They are more for my eyes only and I can overlook any technical weaknesses in their rendering.

Ross, that office rendering is SWEET!

Thanks Daniel! It was just a test scene put together by modeling a simple box and filling it with FormFonts' components. Besides the box, the only other modelling was some 2'x4' rectangles on the ceiling that became the lights as if in a suspended ceiling. I found it a good test scene for practicing Podium because with such a scene we all know what it should look like and its relatively simple so trial & error adjustments to the settings can be easily explored. I've had far less success with exterior scenes --- unfortunately mine typically have a blue cast.

Ross, I had the same problem with the blue tint on exterior Podium renders until I discovered I had to turn off the blue SU sky.

I picked it up at Target for 14 bucks. You guys are putting me to shame...all my time is eaten up by construction administration, so haven't had time to use SU or Podium, but it's been inspiring to see what everyone is posting.
