Very large library of technical components,
mostly mech. and elec., but useful. They are
      also available in SketchUp format,

This site looks AMAZINGLY useful- I registered straightaway, but can't find the download link. I loaded 3 items into my caddy (shopping basket), but after that I looked everywhere, but can't find the link to download them. What gives?

            Dear Jackson,

Within the 'Your Caddy' banner is a button which says send by email. Click on that and the selected files are then to your email account. I registered just now and downloaded a .zip file of a Minitec aluminium profile quite successfully.

This thread is well timed for me as I am designing an enclosure using Minitec components, and the recent postal strike has meant that the promised CD of Minitec AutoCAD drawings has not arrived. Typically, the downloaded Sketchup parts are fairly high poly-count because no effort has been made to minimise the number of arc segments, and there are lots of them. Unfortunately, going into component edit and selecting an arc doesn't help because all the arcs have been exploded.

            Hope this helps.

            Regards,
            Bob

              Bob,

Aha! Thanks for unravelling that mystery - that website is a perfect example of a great idea badly executed. First of all the index is tiny, repetitive and very dull to hunt through, then you have to fill your shopping basket, go to your email account, save the attachment zip file, extract the zipe file, then go into each file's folder to get to the actual skp component.... and then they're almost uselessly high poly! 😒 Many 3D download sites are moving towards drag and drop files into SU for crying out loud!

Still, I got a couple of nice accurate WCs which I'll remodel to about 1/10th of the poly number.

Thanks for explaining that to me,

              Jackson
