Green Toaster's Car Sketches
-
. . . wee bit of tweaking . . . time to move on to the next one . . .
-
. . . CFTD #2 . . .
-
. . . ? . . . nobody would question the intake capacity being too restricted, eh . . .
-
Youd probably get pulled over and asked where you 'borrowed' the foghorns form, though.
-
GT,
Intake action is Jack bird on.
Bring more of that extreme -- fire the block up out of the hood and bring that to the drive in.
Curves will melt, you'll be all the rage.

Would you be able to see over the intake on the hood?
-
. . . it's been a while . . . just something very quick - to start the ball rolling again . . .
-
. . . another concept sketch that will never be completed . . .
-
. . . my father used to say you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear . . . same with bad geometry, I reckon you can take something bad and only do so much with it . . . I should've quit when I could have . . . oh well, on to the next one . . .
-
. . .
-
. . . faster than fast sketch . . . no detail, just a rough shape . . .
-
Woooo, looks really nice!
-
Thanks Rogue - I doubt I'll ever achieve your level of detail, your ability to create stuff with great accuracy and impressive creativity.
In contrast, my skill set seems limited, not very professional. But, I'll be the first to admit I'm still having lots of fun and I really enjoy my primitive, almost cartoon-like simple creations. I'm just trying to enjoy life - not taking things too seriously.
I don't know where this one came from . . . it's a fitting Halloween car because it's scary ugly.
Happy Sketching,
Brad

Thanks Brad. You say your models are "almost cartoon-like simple creations" but thats what SketchUp was really designed for. I quite admire your models as I have never been able to create anything quite like them. I think the uniqueness makes your models that much better. Although SU is designed for quick or "simple" models it does have a lot more power than people think. It has many functions that other 3D modeling software doesnt have and itis a lot easyer to learn than any other I have come accross. I think thats why they call it SketchUp.
Keep up the great SU models

. . . blah, blah, blah . . .

Come ooooooon, brad!
I 've been away for a while, since your topic had 3 pages of replies, now i came back and i see 44 pages!!!!!
Don't you ever sleep??Just kiddin. you're doing a great job! Keep 'em coming!!

Can anyone help me or does anyone want to tackle doing this?
I would like to make a SU of my scooter. It looks like the one below.
-
I reckon the first thing to do is see if you can find any blueprints of it on the internet, its a bit of a long shot but it would help a lot with the modelling.
After youve done that, just get stuck in. Its probably best to start with the major elements (like the frame, major panels etc.) and then add in the details. Easy really

What a long time since I've been sketching cars ! ! !
Here's a WIP . . . nothing fancy, just trying to get back into the swing of things - will redo the front end & roof later . . . argh . . .
