There's a restaurant in town that makes the best Stromboli I have ever had. They are doing an addition (finished) and a very nice outside area (in the near future). I decided to model the outside and render the inside, just for kicks and to improve my rendering skills (or lack of, I should say).

Render is a 2 minute Kerkythea render, set to default. I left an MLT render overnight, so I'll see how far along that came tomorrow.

The columns are so much a part of the character of the space, it is a shame they blend into the shadows.

You might try two false self emitters (very tall and and narrow placed just beyond and between the columns and aimed at the columns.

It will change the whole character of the scene.

Being false you can see right through them, but they should wrap a beautiful light around those columns.

You know, you are absolutely right. Funny thing is, there is a "room" in front of those colums, with a couple tables. I really should throw some lights in there.

There also may be a small fireplace in that main dining room- anyone have suggestions on rendering decent fire?
