I built this thing about eight years ago. I drew it in Auto-CAD. I got the basic shape down and winged it from there. The molding profiles are just what I had on hand for my shaper, so it's nothing fancy.

The cabinet is solid maple and maple plywood. The doors and drawer fronts I did cooper style and spent hours sanding them smooth. The top is mahogany and cherry. I had a good-sized chunk of mahogany, but after I joined and planed it I didn't have the width. So I split and threw a few inches of cherry in the middle.

I'll add a picture of it as soon as I have a chance, I have never gotten around to staining and finishing the cabinet, just the top.

      Merry Christmas to all!

Nice work. You should post more of your work, like your Transformer Pencil.
        Best,

Here's a couple of quick iPhone shots of the project.

                Thank you for the compliment!

It was sort of like using SU.

Once I got the general shape figured out, I was able to make a master template that I used as a "follow me" tool to do all the radius work on the top, bottom, and all the molding using router guides and various offsets.

For me, the hardest part was fitting the drawer boxes to the drawer faces. Getting the mortices in the drawer fronts to accept the tenons on the draw sides was exasperating and I blew up a drawer front whilst I was trying to seat it with a rubber mallet. Luckily a few clamps and glue got it together again.

It was a learning experience and I still have all the templates, jigs and forms I used to build it.

It did take quite a bit of time, more than I care to admit.

I wish I could but I gave all of them to my grandsons for Christmas. Actually, I'm more a fan of rOtring.

                  But thank you!
