Cutlist snippet examples

Hi guys !
i am trying to get myself into sketchup ruby programming
could you point me in a direction where i could take a look at codeing examples that would enable me to explore the possibility of creating cutlist from objects that are already modeled in sketchup.
i am thinking of basically rotating the walls and putting them on a plane xy, and arranging them based on their geometry and some attributes.
i think i understand that it will not be easy and im eager to study
