Solar Explorer

Rendered in Thea with line overlay and engine effects in Photoshop. Got a few of the components from the NASA Website, handy scifi resource!

Wow, great. Looks like it's cobbled together from old bits of the space station, ( which it probly will be, when you make it:).

Looks fantastic, Liam.

Yes the idea was that some of the ISS components where refurbished in orbit and reused to make this ship (the main Truss, radiators and some of the Russian modules. I Got two of the Russian modules from the Nasa Website, the rest is from a project I did for WIRED magazine about 5 years ago.
Proving a pain to render going to try and tidy it up this weekend to make it easier in Thea.
I want to make an annotated version explaining the different parts, I also have this as part of a larger model but having some issues with it at the moment

Spacial Odyssey!

Absolutely epic. Can't wait to see the presentation of the larger model. Can you explain what I'm looking at in your most recent image? Is that an SU line export? What kind of layers are you integrating? Great stuff on your site by the way.

Great one. yse explain why there are solar panels inside. Or if that is a work bay why are there engines aimed in it?

Its a clay render from Thea with a SU profile line overlay to give some depth to the model and enhance some of the details.

Those are actually windows on the cylinder itself, I just have not put anything behind them yet so they appear black, you can see them better here:
What engines do you mean, the ones on the spaceship?

Here is the full pan.
