After a couple of weeks with the matt screen I must say the my eyes are the better for it. I would highly recommend it to all.

Use a sun umbrella or a big straw hat with a brim or add a hood to computer like the old cars use to have before they had wippers or get some heaver window curtains

We are on the same wavelength. I also had a 17" and still miss the screen real estate. I hope this works Packed Pixels - An extra monitor for your laptop

An extra screen would be great but it looks like the won't hit the goal (£150K) but maybe a second attempt will work when word spreads.

I work with a window behind me most of the time and don't like pulling the blinds on sunny days as its a rarity here in Ireland

I live in a wet area of the USA NW now for 25 yrs , it's also rains here 40 to 60 inch a year. we get 1 1/2 mounths of summer were the grass turns brown, ... Ok on a good sunny day people will take a day off.

I have a story to tell you too.

I been wearing glass since I was 14yr old.(I was living in UT 2rd dryest state of US. for 28 years) I notice that differnt lens has more annoying reflection / glare then others, the plasic lens are the worst.... I turn 58 last dec have had bi-focols lens for 8 years. thats 44 years at $200 dallors a yr = $8,800 dallor thats 9 desk top computers in taking care of my eyes.

One thing my, Taxas, father taught me never look directly at the sun alway look off at 45 deg angle of it. so any hard light CRT don't sit dead center. Look off to the side angle wear the sun not hiting you too. he said 60% of people were going blind at 60 years old in his days (1916 - )

Now to the end of my story in dealing with my eye health, I was look at a inlarge kidney. that was cause by drinking bad iodize heavey meatals water with wrong ph levels too. I don,t have time for my cure, but I will save to anouther time if ask. but the results I see better, hear better, smell thing better. I don,t wear glass todays because my tears gland started to retuned to my eyes so my eye work fine now.

The process of wearing glass is not the cure, my $8,800 was a lost to the wind.

I also wear glasses and have done since I was 14. I was short-sighted but over the last 2 years I have become long-sighted! I preferred it when I was short-sighted.

We see because of rod and cone witch are governed by iris and lens of the eye

Lens: If the lens get to much heat on it. Its change the shape of the lens and it sometime changes pigment and thickness too. To get clarity back your eye muscle try to pull your eyes back to reshape the lens. A change focus length is called near sited or far sighted ( in my case near sited )

Why dose the lens over heat ... because of lack of tears from a cold or change in the body balance. The eye doc will say its the change in growth size of the head. Whom knows, who's right?

The the eye doctor gives you external lens so you eyes will relax the eye muscle. Every
One is now happy you can see and he is happy with your money every year.

With me, my eyes, changed in two weeks time at 14yr old. After a illness not a growing head change. As long the eye muscle don't need to work, no realignment to the eye ball will take place. I haven't damage lens again, that the eyes ball could be re-adjust to the standard setting. I have lost tear a lot since but I work indoors mostly.

Iris: Iris changes the amount of light ratio to the (rod and cones). More cone ratio more color light you see and more distance you see. To align your brightness and color control by adjusting your iris width

Cones: Cone vision screen range 45 to 180 deg of view of background vision work best at 45 deg, also work well at night to low light. To align focus of cone look full view of object as like you are look thou the the object with no detail
Example - walk in a very dark room and adjust you eyes to darkness now look around you start seeing on the out side of eye view but not center.

Rods: Rod vision screen range 0 to 30 deg of view focus center work best at 5 deg, also work well on small dark points, lines, outlines and shape you can see best in bright lights.
To align focus of rod look smallest object detail as like you are looking at nothing but it.
Example - take two fingers tips in one hand and one finger tip to other hand press the three tip together now this make a small eye hole to look thou. Now look thou the eye hole every thing should be in focus

If you have tear to eyes and was able adjusts alignments above to iris, cones, and rods:
Now you should see in full clarity without using eyes wear or no stressing muscles to eye ball

same here I'm still using my MacBook Pro Mid 2010 with matte screen - added a Samsung SSD last year, so it is still working great for me (win 7) but i really would like to have an option to replace it maybe next year.

Is there any colour shift due to the foil? How is the difference in light intensity?

I've been using the Moshi iVisor for a couple of weeks now and find it great. I don't notice any colour shift or difference in light intensity.

The good thing about the iVisor is that it is easily removed. The iVisor only has a adhesive around the perimeter and it can be flipped off and on in a few seconds. I have no reasons that I can think off for taking it off however.
