Is this based off the upcoming movie set or just your imagination?
I could be wrong but this may indeed be the first porn set modeled with SU, well done.
Haha! I didn't think of it in that way!! These images are based on the actual descriptions in the first book and NOT my imagination!!!
YOU READ THE BOOK!
Nice renderings, but the leather couch and bedspread appear a bit grainy....oh, god...I hope that's what it is, a grainy rendering...and not...something else
-
nice idea.
Cool renderings
-
Daniel, of course I read the books!! I've read all 3 more than once!!
-

Ahh, I have to agree with Solo about the subject. I think to make the room really steamy, add some haze... for effect! I'm sure it will add to the feel. Even if it isn't accurate, add a candle or incense would be appropriate here! Thank for pushing Sketchup to the next level. You are now my new SketchUp hero.., ahem, I mean heroine! Love it!

Thanks! You're probably right about the candles/haze etc. and I did consider candlelight but this was purely an exercise to create THAT room to the exacting descriptions in the book! SketchUp heroine??!! I like that!! I like that A LOT!!

Your comment reminded me of an old fun project. I've remodelled it and rendered a nice pano. A typical european eroscenter
-
That's epic jo-ke. Almost too realistic! I think brothel would be a more appropriate term than eroscenter!

A few weeks ago i was searching for a social network to join.
So i did a search on the net and found a wiki site with lots and
lots of social networks. I found one on the long list called Fetlife.
At the time i had seen the site i think they need a worker to do
maybe renderings.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites
-
Well done!
-
Oohhh... Please share this model...!!
I would add some piquancy models from Daz3D - you know, where you see some skin, but not in a bad way, but where there's something left for the imagination...My wife is also a great fan of these books...
Haven't read them myself, but I'm also a big fan for sure... -

Haven't read them myself, but I'm also a big fan for sure...Hi there! Flashes of skin would be alluring indeed! I'm glad you appreciate my lighthearted SketchUp project - it would appear that not everyone does (I've got a few 'dislikes' on my inital post...oops!!). I'm not sure how easy it would be to upload the entire 3D model, the bed is very geometry heavy!!
Your wife clearly has great taste in books! I CANNOT wait for the movie!!

Don't let it bother you...
There will always be people who will feel offended by this but the sales figures speak for themselves and the figures of Fifty Shades of Grey figures speak a very clear language...
It is typically the same people who have double standards, which is hypocritical...@unknownuser said:

I fully understand... No worries...
I was just thinking, that it could have been a great opportunity for a render challenge, like we used to have in the past...@unknownuser said:

She also looks very much forward to the movie(s)... And so do I...

I was just thinking, that it could have been a great opportunity for a render challenge, like we used to have in the past...haha I have the perfect chandelier for this room. Did this a while back for a joke:
-
Oli!!! Hahahaha!!!! You legend!! This would be more than perfect for this room! On a side note - the lighting is very, very effective. I like how it's all focused in the middle and very gradually disperses!! Very good!!

Thanks for the positive vibes and words of support. I was a little concerned about offending people but it is just a bit of fun! I get so serious about my 3D Visualisation commissions that it was nice to just work on something for pure enjoyment without any pressure!
Ahhhh, a render challenge. I see! Let me look into it! SU crashed an awful lot when I was working on that model because of that damned bed! But what a nice bed it is
The movie will either bomb or it will be a triumph! I hope it's the latter
