Pirate3D's Kickstarter crowd-funding project for the Buccaneer generated a whopping $1,438,765. That's not surprising when one looks at its smooth Mac-like lines and bluetooth connection.
The first 360 Kickstarter backers jumped on board for just $297. Even though the initial giveaway offers are over, its still possible to pre-order for $497 and this price includes a cartridge of filament. Delivery adds an extra $184, bringing the total to $681, still a fraction of the cost of similar 3D printers.
