      Hi,

I know it's a lousy title but it really feels good to post again on this forum after such a long time and I just couldn't resist expressing it! ๐Ÿ˜

Moreover, it is because of my Frenchness that I'm posting this so... Not totally irrelevant!

Actually, I'm working on a project which request me to model this:
      Disney Village 2004 b.jpg

Alright, so apart from guessing modelling this will imply using Curviloft at some stage, I really don't know yet how I'm gonna do this...

But more than that, I must say I first thought I would look for something like this on the warehouse. But here's my other problem: I don't know what it is or how it's called neither in french or English... ๐Ÿ˜•

So if any of you can tell me how this nylon or plastic white tent is called, I'd already be glad.
But if anyone has a good idea of how to model this, I think I'll be even happier!

Either way, I can only thank you for reading this post completely!
And thanks for being a part of a great community!

      Have a nice day!
      Nicolas

It's not as difficult a structure as it looks. The framework helps to set it out for you.
Here is a very quick version using four bezier curves and Tig's EEbyR. A few adjustments to the curves and your would have a nice flowing canopy.

Hi. In English, something like that might be called a "tensile structure". Looking at the image, a phrase comes to mind: "continuous fabric canopy". This looks like a temporary setup for an event. Would "promenade" or "esplanade" be used here?

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

Hey Pilou! Jean-Franco, thanks a lot to all of you, I really appreciate!

Soapskin is less predictaable for me right now since I never really used it so far.
                Same for Ferrari.

But Jeez! It's good to be back on this forum! ๐Ÿ˜

By the way, I think you may have had this question before but I never looked for an answer for I lack potential uses of this technique but how do you do your colorful patterns?

This definately makes your images pop. I think it's called style! ๐Ÿ˜„

Yes, you have not but you can "save as V6" with last version that you use! ๐Ÿค“
Very useful today when there are so many users' versions working in the same time!

Some free or pro versions have many advantages that other have not!

Thanks a lot! It really helps me a lot.

Box, I think it took me 3 minutes after I saw your wireframe to come up with something decent:
                        canopy.jpg

Just drew 3 lines and converted them to a classic Bezier (another French guy isn't it? ๐Ÿ˜† ) curve, rotated/copy this curve 90 degrees, added 2 arcs with the arc tool and let Curviloft do the rest (What would I do without you Fredo6? (Could it be another French guy??? ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† !)).

Here's the .skp in case someone would need it.
