The FreedMan Chair - A better way to sit?
-
Most of us that frequent this place spend up to 8+ hours a day in a slouched sitting position which is definitely not good for our backs and general health.
The FreedMan Chair may be part of the answer. Simon Freedman, an Osteopath, has been working for twenty years on the design for his ideal working chair. Full details may be viewed on Kickstarter, here, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/929020713/the-freedman-chair-a-better-way-to-sit?ref=category
It looks like the final retail price will be in the region of $1,000 / Β£640 ...... but the chair is on offer at Kickstarter for $499 / Β£319. Expensive? Maybe! But I know that $499 won't go very far to cure sciatica ..... I know all about it

The design looks like it follows the human skeleton. Wonder how well it works. I have found the Aeron chair to be good (and not cheap either), and it has arm rests which seem good for computer work. This seems to go further in terms of posture, but lacks the web seat of the Aeron chair which seems to distribute weight. Looks like a lot of the engineering and construction expense has gone into making a striking and clean design for the support system.
