NPR Baguio House

Impressive indeed. Reminds me of the good old days, visuals are done by hand without help from computers...Those were really exciting times... It set the true artists apart from the rest.
-
Beautiful render, Allan!
Have a good day!

Good stuff.

Nice work Alan but I can't help noticing that there could be a problem with the drive / ramp. I imagine its okay for big 4x4s but anything with low clearance might have problems.
-
I agree Mike, the ramp is pretty steep for me too and not visually appealing, I want to bring that up to the Architect but I am not in a position to do that.

they look fantastic, Alan.
That driveway is a doozy! -
Thanks Daniel, you are right and there are also many doozy people and architects here too...

Fantastic.

Alan,
First of all, they are indeed very nice images.
Having said that, I have some questions/comments in general regarding NPR styles, such as these, so please don't mistake them as being a critique unique to your images, just questions for those who do them.
- I've been playing around with trying to learn NPR styles, but I never know what to do with straight lines, such as in your images, when trying to produce watercolor similarities. You would never see such straight linework in true watercolors.
2)I've noticed in several "NPR" or "watercolor' type styles, that a reflection is shown on materials that realistically would not be that way. What is the reason for doing so?
Just trying to learn. Thanks.

Hi Ben,
Thanks,
-
When I am still using real watercolour I used straight lines to refine the crookedness that a paint do to the artwork or to minimize the painting effect to an artwork. I add it now the same way before to refine my drawings, I still run all my renders in Fotosketcher to give the watercolour look and sometimes it comes up like a painting or something abstract.
-
Yes reflection is a big thing in watercolour painting many artist use it, for me reflection adds also a refinement to the artwork a sort of finish look unlike not using it the painting looks unfinish or dull.
Thanks Simon,Eric and Ben
