UPDATE - the website 3darcstudio does not offer the latest version, it's actually .11 rather than .14 on there despite it being labelled otherwise. Here's the only place I could find the latest installer, which works fine for me in both 2017 and 2018.

I PAID for this plug-in and have waited PATIENTLY for an update to make it work in 2018, or at least a reply to the many emails I have sent the author, and have been completely ignored.

All attempts to access site lead to a 404 Forbidden - apparently since the beginning of the year. Was looking to buy the plug-in as the constant "you have the free version, you need to wait 15 seconds" pop-up is annoying as all heck (I got it the first time, thank you.) but given the multiple mentions of no response from the author and the wait time to even get the license, I think I'll just make do.

Use the free TwinMotion: there are a lot of trees, flowers, grass etc... inside it!
But go speed because after october's end Christmas is finished for download it!
...or make your own

I tried to solve the problem in many ways.

If you read the previous posts you will see that 3D Tree Maker is apparently no longer available. Pilou has offered one possible alternative. The author's last log in here was over two years ago. He may have decided to discontinue offering or supporting the extension.

The reason I like 3D Tree Maker is because you can edit the tree and make it fit whatever you might need it for. TwinMotion doesnt let you do that. You can only take a basic model and change the size, the season and whether or not its effected by wind. Thats it.
If I knew how to make a plug-in, I'd very happily make one for trees.

Is it in the grey zone to ask whether someone might share their license with us? Since the author has closed the homepage and discontinued support, isn't it some kind of abandonware?
I am an avid user of this plugin, and there is nothing that quite compares to it. Have tried several different tree generators on other platforms, but this one has a certain charm.

Annoying, why don't you state out this plugin is not actually free and price for full version? It felt disgusted after install it and literally use it during work and it just freezes your SketchUp only because you don't pay money and your website for buying also only shows a blank box in the middle without any way to actually purchase or price. You are really not a pleasant way to do business at all.
