VAPE PORN ANYONE?
(Provari P3 with Kayfun Lite Plus)
MADE IN 'MURICA:
-
Barry, that's what we call a mechanical mod, with an atomizer on top (Kayfun). Basically, it's a metal tube with a big battery inside, rechargeable, and a fire button . It is like your Ego battery, but bigger, just a little bit more powerful. The vaping experience is exactly like yours right now. When the battery is full, you get more consistent vapours. Now, let us talk about the pro's and con's:
Pro's: it is sexy (in my opinion)
you can use a very low resistance in your atomizer, BUT you need a very safe
battery (AW IMR are the best)
it is almost indestructible
Con's: vaping is not consistent, you get less and less volts with every puff you take
it doesn't have any safety, it's a hand grenade if it's firing in the pocket for
example, and the battery is venting....yeah, it's not the safest vape...
you need to keep it clean for perfect contact (fire button, the plus pin etc)
it is in most cases heavier, but I like it like that, so it's not a minus for me
I would recommend you an electronic device (like Provari), because, with these ones, if you set the volts or watts to whatever input, you'll get that for every push of the button, until the device tells you that the battery is low. You can always pick a mec later on, if that sexiness really hunts you .
Good luck, and good job! Life is a little bit better now, you'll see! -
I can thoroughly recommend the Provari (I have the older model). The only thing I have replaced is the extension cap at the bottom of the unit because the spring came out and it was a pain in the @rse getting it back in the right position each time I replaced a battery..!
I think Oli's is variable wattage and variable voltage....not sure what advantages that has, but he will be able to tell us more.
As for the Nautilus Mini, get the big one....it holds nearly 5ml of juice and you are less likley to burn the coil because the juice won't get as low as quickly. But the Mini is a good start.
I ended up getting the tank with a stainless steel sleeve...the unprotected glass tanks look very vulnerable....!!

Speaking of juice, do you know how, for example, 5ml of juice at 18mg nicotine relates to say a packet of full strength analogues?

That would be about a case of Camel lights.

You mean multiple packets?, they are called cartons here. Shit, that's about 200 cigarettes.
I'm getting thru about 2ml per day or 4 packets analog? Whoa! -
Thanks for info Oli, was getting a bit concerned there.
Cheers Baz -
nah I think a case/carton is an exaggeration maybe?
Silk Cut cigarettes, for example, have a nicotine strength of 0.3mg so 20 x 0.3mg=6mg nicotine = 1 packet of 20 cigarettes. Obviously if you smoke a higher strength brand you need a higher strength liquid.
2ml a day? Don't worry mate I go through 10ml a day sometimes Hardcore vaper! My Kayfun absolutely drinks it, but you get amazing flavour.
I wouldn't concern yourself too much mate, when you have quit for a couple more weeks try reducing your nicotine to 12mg. I'm on 6mg now and will probably go down to 3mg quite soon.
Stefan, the cons of your mechanical mod are the advantages I take for granted (such as the safety)....I didn't realise the power drops off over time, but it makes sense now. I always love the look of a mechanical mod though.
Gareth.....VW just keeps the wattage consistent over time. Even if the resistance of the atomiser changes (like they do) the wattage will remain constant by self-regulating the voltage. Does that make sense?
But to be honest, I keep my provari in voltage mode. I don't piss around with wattage and all that....I see no difference really. If I need more voltage I just increase it, really simple.
So, I use my Provari P3 just like I used my Provari 2.5; I just change the voltage as and when I need to. Vaping does not need to be complicated.
The P3 is just like the old Provaris, you just get a few more options....and you can change the colour of the LED through the menu!! The display also tells you how much battery % is remaining, the resistance of the coil, The voltage and the wattage....all made easier through the OLED screen which simply just allows more information on-screen. It is great to see the battery % remaining though....other than that, it's still a good old Provari device.
Oh.....and it comes with an extension cap that blends into the body of the device now. So now you don't need to buy a separate extension cap to run 18650 batteries.

Happy with small and simple things
An I-stick 20 Watt and Derringer on top. -
Nice!
So....educate me. How come you can vape at such high wattage without it tasting burnt? Seems when you go sub ohm the wattage is ramped right the way up....why is that?

I'm up for a bit of education too...

An I-stick 20 Watt and Derringer on top. Thanks for heads up, I just bought a 30w version in chrome, for when I leave the house (work from home) as my Provari is a heavy monster.
So far it's awesome, great power for a tiny mod.

That Derringer is a 'dripper' (rebuildable dripping atomizer). A dripper can take very high wattages, mostly because they provide big airflow and because the 'chamber' is bigger.
The newer 'sub-ohm tanks' (Kangertech Subtank etc..) are clearomizers that can take higher wattages as well.
It is a different kind of vape than a Kayfun, way more aery and geared towards direct lung inhale.
I use them once and a while just for variation, but in general I prefer a Kayfun kind of vape with a tighter draw. I use my Joyetech Egrips for that. Very stealthy vape with a nice tight draw and rebuildable coil.ps: that P3 with the Kayfun looks very sharp

I thought I'd try out all this sub ohm business. This is the Kanger Subtank with 0.5 ohm organic cotton coils.
I tried my normal e liquid and it's way too harsh. Too much nicotine and too much PG for sub ohm.
I also got the Invader Mini 50 watt mod. It's actually waterproof and smash proof (apparently).
Anyway, I mixed up some 3mg E liquid, 85% VG, 10% Flavouring......this thing RIPS!! I can't believe how much vapour comes out! It's so smooth and there is only the slightest throat hit from the nicotine/flavouring. It produces 10 times more vapour than my Kayfun, it's actually quite funny.
You need to do a direct lung inhale....but after 5 mins of practice I'm loving it!!

I stopped smoking abruptly on May 20. I asked myself, what does Smoking do for me. The answer I gave myself:
• smoking is unhealthy
• Tastes awful
• is very expensiveand this I say to myself every day.
I was told repeatedly by former smokers, all takes place only in the mind.

Fantastic!
I am thinking to quit vaping as I suffer from dehydration easily. -
I'm cutting my nicotine to zero and just gonna vape when I'm bored....I like the process of vaping not the actual nicotine.
Well done Charly....it's good you had that moment of seeing sense; many people never get to that stage.
-
Oli, maybe one day you will have a topic titled :
"Any Vapers Here ? Wanna Quit?"
-
haha true!
I don't think I'll ever truly quit vaping though. Man has smoked for millennia; some people like it and some people don't. Even if I used no nicotine I would still vape just to relax.
I never really wanted to quit smoking....I just had to because I felt like I was killing myself. I think vaping provides a good middle-ground between smoking and quitting completely; I owe my life to e-cigs!
Even if I just vape after a meal or with a stiff drink....it makes me happy and I really enjoy the taste. #ohmlife

Yep, well said mate.
I went to a party on Saturday night, it was held in a hotel function room, and ended up having to join the smokers outside while it was p!ssing down with rain....the venue didn't permit vaping indoors...!!
bugga eh ??
