Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

Vaping News....Squape Reloaded is just about to come out. Swiss made rebuildable atomiser.
How is everyone getting on? Any new vaping gear?
I think it's time to retire my Kayfun and Provari Mini. The battery just doesn't last long enough on the Mini and I'm gonna keep the Kayfun as a spare setup.
My next vape mail is the Svoemesto Semovar 18650 Mod and the Svoemesto Kayfun Lite Plus.
Should look a bit like this, apart from the chopsticks.

Oh and other news, my girlfriend bought a really cheap variable voltage mod for Β£20! Goes with her new Protank 3.
It's called the X6. There are 3 voltage settings; low, medium and high. You just click the button to change voltage, it's so easy and cheap. Quality feels good. It's perfect for anyone who doesn't like faffing around with settings, resistance, numbers etc.
There are better mods out there, but for a Kanger Protank 3 or Aerotank, I don't think you can beat this at Β£20. I had a test with it and I was surprised it was so good.
I can also confirm the new Dual Coil heads for the Protank 3 and Aerotank are better than the original EVOD heads. They taste better, last longer and stay quite smooth compared to the old single coils. The new dual coils will only fit in the Protank 3 and Aerotank by the way, so don't try ramming one into an EVOD.
The device charges like a normal EVOD battery and you can use the same wire to charge it.

Hiya Oli,
Looks like a neat setup.
In response to your earlier post, I'm doing quite well, but still feel the urge about once a fortnight or so to have an analogue, but manage to resist......I tried one back in late May and it was awful, so I just need to remind myself of that....!!
The cravings are not very frequent though, and certainly aren't that strong.
I'm still using the Provari with Aspire BDC tanks. Replacement coils for the Aspire are difficult to get in Australia at the moment because of their popularity.....but I still have a few of my old wick type tanks and coils to get me over the line if the BDC's wear out (which they will in the next few weeks....!)
-
So what's the aspire like? Seen it sold over here but never tried it. The EVOD/protank/aerotank seem to be the most popular at the moment but would like to see what aspire can do.
Why not keep a tobacco flavour for when you get the cigarette craving, Gareth?
The whole time since I've been vaping I have touched just one cigarette.
It was when I was out one night in switzerland, for some reason my EVOD coil just stopped working and I was too far from hotel to get another. I was drinking heavy and completely slaughtered by the end of the night. When I was leaving I asked somebody for a cigarette....I had one drag and started gagging and just threw it away. lol So don't even think about a cigarette they taste like crap compared to vaping!
-
The Aspire BDC's are pretty good....I've never used an Evod so I can't comment on which is better although I hear a lot of good things about the Evod......it would be so much easier if we had access to Vape shops (having to buy online is a pain in the @rse) I get about 10 -14 days use from them when I vape at 4.8. They are fairly reliable and only occasionally do I get a bit of gurgling and minor leaking.....the trick is not allowing the eliquid level to get too low.
I have a tobacco flavour in my collection, but it isn't one of my favourites. Mostly the cravings are only for a few minutes and it doesn't happen very often. It's just annoying that occasionally the brain switches into that craving mode every now and then. But it tells me how strong the cigarette addiction can be. I'm still vaping 18mg and don't feel quite ready to drop down to 12mg, although I have a few flavours which are 12mg and occasionally vape those. I smoked my last whole cigarette at a party on March 8th after getting a little p!ssed....!
Vaping has certainly made a big difference both to my health and my wallet...! .....and it is far more enjoyable to vape than to smoke..!
I'll never be able to express how grateful I am that you started this topic.
On the downside, the authorities in Western Australia raided a small online supplier, confiscated all of their stock and prosecuted them in a test case. Two other online suppliers (and there may well be more than that) have closed down after being concerned that they will be driven out of business too. So, things aren't looking good for the future of vaping over here in the long term. Let's hope common sense prevails.
-
It's completely daft Gareth.
They are studying electric cigarettes in depth over here. Many doctors advocate their use and many are of the opinion to ban the real problem....smoking. I feel like absolute morons are in charge of this debate. Why try and ban the solution to a deadly problem? It makes no sense!!
It's all about money money money!
-
I just ordered the holy grail of vapes.
-
On order:
Svoemesto Kayfun Lite +
Svoemesto Semovar V3
2 x 18650 batteries
And no they are not clones, Stefan and Chris!
Finally I have BIG BATTERIES!! No more changing batteries every 2 hours lol
The Provari Mini and Kayfun V3 are being retired. They have served me well for almost 18 months now.
-
It's arrived!
Total perfection this device in my opinion. So pleased with it. Been vaping like a chimney all day!
Sorry about bad photo quality, just taken with a phone. And excuse my dirty fingernails! Been grafting haha
-
That's a mighty fine looking unit Oli.
I saw a video recently and the guy was filling from the bottom which looked awkward, especially if you are out and about. They did say you can fill from the top but it takes less liquid than filling from the bottom.....or did I misunderstand ?
-
If you fill from the bottom you can fill the whole tank 100%.
If you fill from the top you need to leave a tiny air gap for when you screw the lid back on. You probably lose 0.5ml of liquid, nothing problematic.
I still fill from the top; there's enough juice to last all day. I find the bottom valve just as impractical as the last one, I just like to fill up quickly and go. If I'm vaping heavy I may use two tanks worth of liquid in one day.
I'm still very impressed, I knew the Kayfun would be good but the Semovar Mod is rock-solid reliable and feels just amazing.
-
Cloud chasers or human smoke machines, either way this is stupid.

lol

New Mod by Kanger. If anyone wants a cheap, high quality mod then I believe this would be the best for less than Β£100. It looks so much better than my mother's Smoktech SID which was around the same price.
I have not tested this yet, so will post a mini review when I've tried one out. I think this will have to replace my mother's SID.
It's called the Kanger K-Simar. Only Β£30 and full stainless steel VV/VW.
shop link (just the first one I found):
-
Also, the Provari V3 is coming out! I won't be getting one but just giving everyone a heads up.
-
Update on the flavour concentrates...I finally found the perfect Grape Soda flavours!!
The Inawera Grape and Tasty Puff Ghetto Grape are excellent. Totally like the purple grape soda drink.
All of the Tasty Puff concentrates are amazing. I'm so impressed. Even if you don't DIY your own liquids, I highly recommend getting some Tasty Puff concentrates and add a few drops to your vape. All of the flavours are just indescribably good.
The only flavouring that wasn't nice was the Flavour West Grape because it smells like anti freeze! haha other than that all the flavourings I bought are pretty spot on. (For a change!)

Mini review on the Kanger K-Simar mod
I received the Kanger K-Simar this morning. This is my mother's new mod to replace the Smoktech SID.
I gotta say I'm blown away by the quality. The stainless steel finish is as good as my Semovar!! Very good quality, it looks great too.
Feels nice and weighty in the hand. Buttons click very well with no rattling. The 18650 battery fits fine, again, no rattling.
The OLED screen is easy to read, displays battery level information and a puff counter with current wattage.
Easy to change power with one click. You can also lock the watts so you don't change the power by mistake in your pocket.
This mod is obviously built to be used with Kanger's Protanks and Aerotanks, the fitment is perfect. For the price I don't think there is anything that can compete. (Β£30 or $50)
I have a attached some photos. I have placed the Smoktech SID next to the K-Simar. The difference in quality is VERY apparent, the K-Simar weighs a lot more too. Please bear in mind that the SID is only a couple of months old; looks completely battered and no longer functions properly. Both these mods were around the same price.

My Provari is 11 months old, still looks as good as new but the button rattles a little at certain angles....appears to be working just fine though. I have been considering a backup unit for a while and there looks to be a few good (and less expensive choices) available.
The cost of the Provari was nearly $200AUS when I bought it......I wonder what the price tag on the new V3 will be ?!
-
Yeah I like the Provari but the price is out of touch IMO. I'm keeping my little one as a spare. Yeah my button on the Provari rattled from day one, but didn't bother me. It's a very solid device but I bet the new one is Β£250 easily.
If you want a cheap spare mod, Gareth I would highly recommend the Kanger K-Simar. Been testing it for a couple of days and it's great. Feels almost like a Provari in terms of quality and that's unbelievable for 5 times less money!
The K-Simar takes 18650 batteries as standard so need to buy any more. It fits any atomiser with a 510 connection....ie a Kayfun, Protank, Aerotank, Nautilus, Vivi Nova etc...
