Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

all done....now I'm totally committed...!!
That's what I did, spent an entire months cigarette budget so I had no choice but to vape, and it worked well as I have never touched a smoke since day one. I save over $300 per month and I'm healthier, look better and have acute smell and taste (I used to think kids overreacted to my farts, I sympathize now)
-
it's a big investment....just over AU$500
LOL....and a cure for farts would be useful too....!!

I have been having a problem with the Kanger evod USB charger. It quit charging the batteries, the LED light was green and would stay green and not charge the battery only a few moths of use so I bought an other one now it won't charge the batteries either one so I don't think it's the batteries. Some one on one of the ecig forums suggested prying the post as they sometimes get pushed down on Kanger evod to no success now the LED is red and stays red even without a battery connected to it. Any suggestions?

I tried E-cigs but they did not work for me. They did not reduce, nor satisfy the craving for nicotine. And they did not help me get away from the habit of inhaling from a tube-like object.
In the end, it was a combination of hypnotherapy, and going broke, that helped me [this took a full year,] to finally make the INTERNAL DECISION to quit smoking, and have the desire to not be addicted to nicotine. Until you can make a true personal, internal decision and convince yourself that you WANT to quite.. it cannot happen.
Only then,.. can the normal "helpers" (the patch or gum, etc.,) work.
The first time I tried to quit (after hypnotherapy,) .. I choose to try lozenges, but erroneously bought the higher 4mg dosage which actually increased the nicotine in my body.
My nicotine cravings increased, and I began smoking again after a month or so.A year later I finally made the internal decision to quit, bought the 2mg gum and this time followed the directions correctly for the full 3 month weaning therapy.
It worked, and I was able to switch to candy, at the end of the 3 month gum therapy.
After another 3 months I could say with confidence that I HAD QUIT, and I am a EX-SMOKER. (I did not "cheat" during nor after the nicotine gum therapy.)
I ALSO recognize that I will FOREVER experience weird, occasional cravings for the FALSE SATISFACTION that nicotine and other psychoactive chemicals in cigarettes caused, even though I remember all the negative aspects of nicotine addiction, and NEVER want to be subject to that ever again.
Sucralose sweetened candy is now my best friend.

Ah, Dan that's where I differ, I do not want to quit smoking, I just want to quit cigarettes, I love sucking tube like things with nicotine in them.
-
And Dan, everyone is different, I stopped one morning after 30+ years of 40 a day, no gum no nothing, just stopped and can't imagine ever smoking again. But you are right about having to make the decision, it generally doesn't work if you are doing it for someone else.
-
I agree with Dan too. You have to want to stop. If you love smoking and don't care about the health hazards then vaping would never satisfy your needs. For me it was an overnight decision; I wanted to quit for a while but discovered my father had tongue cancer and that really triggered me to quit immediately. Even he still smokes which is completely shameful; I tried to get him vaping but he does not have the will to quit. It's kinda pathetic and selfish with what we've been through during his recovery. It reinforces Dan's experience; you really have to want to quit. I just find vaping the best solution for quitting smoking, it gives you the flexibility to reduce nicotine levels in your own time and eventually vape a 0% nicotine liquid.

Provari (plus 2 x 18650 batteries, charger, extension cap & carry case...from Vapebar
Vivi Nova V3 ( x4, plus 10 x 2.5 Ohm spare coils)from VapeKing
Lots of e juices, plus some PV and mixing kit and a few 18mg eNics from Niceliquid NZ & Vapebar and VapeKingThat is a sweet setup. You'll be vaping clouds of pure joy!
How come you got the extension cap, Gareth? Doesn't the normal size Provari already accept 18650 batteries fine? Or did you buy a mini Provari?
More importantly which colour did you get?

Hmmm. Are you plugging it into a mains USB charger thingy? Maybe the mains part is broken?
You have tried a new USB charger, so I guess it's the batteries. They should last a few months before they start playing up. I've had no issues with chargers, only the occasional battery.
Is the new charger the same as the old one?

Hiya Oli.
I was undecided about colour, so went with the silver.
Apparently the extension cap is required for the 18650 batteries. It's a bit strange when you consider the length of the unit though. Maybe I'd better revisit the website and check it again.
Thanks for your patience and advice.....I can be a pain in the @rse when I don't understand something and start asking questions...!!
Wait 'til I start mixing....I'll have more questions.....!!
Hopefully, my Provari and the Nova will arrive on Tuesday/Wednesday (they are purchased from two different suppliers)....I bought ejuices from each of them too. I'll be able to start as soon as I get both parcels. However, I ordered the eNic from a New Zealand supplier and it turns out that those are shipped from Europe and will take another 2 weeks before they arrive.
No doubt I'll end up having a few analogue smokes until the nic arrives...!!...the timing isn't ideal because my partner is holidaying in the Mediterranean for 4 weeks and will be back in 2 weeks.....I was hoping to surprise her by being off the cigs by the time she arrives home...!
Thanks again.

If you find the device too long with an extension cap you could always just use the standard 18490 batteries.
Oh and mixing is easy by the way. You are best off starting with some premixed liquids to see what sort of effect you like ie. throat hit versus amount of vapour. One step at a time and you'll know exactly how you personally like to vape.

I've just realised that the juices I have bought are 100% PG.
Should I have got 50/50 instead ?

after 2-3 evenings of reading you'll effortlessly quit.I haven't read the book, and unless I will derive pleasure from the methods Carr suggests I am unlikely to be very interested at this point in time. Perhaps if I don't find vaping to be satisfying, I may consider it.
Someone summed it up nicely earlier in this topic, or maybe i read it on another Forum when he said he "enjoys sucking on things' or words to that effect. (I may have badly misquoted him....!!)
For now, I feel like the best way for me is to incrementally cut back and enjoy myself while I'm doing it.
I started smoking because I enjoyed it, I intend giving up the same way.

That's the point. there's literally nothing to enjoy in smoke sucking. The core of Carr's success (~96%!) is that you eventually discover this naked truth.
-
At the bottom line, I find myself being an idiot because I start smoking in the first place, so I can understand the point of view from a non-smoker.
In the meantime, I got my Davide glassomizer, the mini version, not the one from the images I put in my previous post. Looks great, feels great (is heavy), vapes great, just like the evod. The price is around 15 euro. The best thing about it, is the pyrex glass, and the removable drip tip, so you can use your favourite one . Some spare glass tanks will be available soon, with different sizes and colours. I flood it in the first half hour, because I was pushing through the drip tip some napkin( old habit from the evods, in order to remove condensation). All my evods will have a brake, so I'll test it heavily in the next days. Here are some pictures I have taken this morning:

Yeah the Alan Carr book works for some people, but not for me. I read it, smoked my last cigarette but I cracked a couple of days later. My old driving instructor used it to quit and lent me the book, unfortunately it didn't work for me.
I believe vaping is a great middle-ground to living a smoke-free existence. When you quit traditionally, the slightest amount of stress can push you over the edge to buy some cigarettes. I've had a very stressful 2013; probably the worst year of my life, and would have never quit smoking if it wasn't for vaping. It wouldn't even cross my mind to smoke a cigarette in any circumstance.
At the end of the day; I look and feel healthier, I don't cough any more or lose breath, I have saved a lot of money and I feel completely confident that I will never smoke again.

Looks great Stefan and a nice size! Glad to see you are still living smoke-free! How many months is that now?

100% PG will not give you clouds of vapour. It will provide a strong throat-hit but not a thick cloud of vapour.
Basically; PG provides the throat hit and also takes on flavour very well.
VG provides smooth clouds of vapour but does not take on flavour very well.
A compromise between the two is required in most cases. You will find anything with 70/30 PG/VG ratio will be fine. 50/50 is just my personal preference because I like thick clouds. Therefore I recommend 70/30, 60/40 or 50/50.
Chinese E-liquids are often high PG; they like a strong throat hit. American and European E-liquids have more VG and are therefore smoother and provide better vapour production.
This is all subjective; you may completely enjoy 100% PG but I suggest you try a couple of other ratios BEFORE you attempt to mix your own liquids; this way you will know what you enjoy and won't waste any nicotine etc.
PG and VG are cheap....it's the nicotine that costs the money.
