Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

You'll find many people start using a tobacco flavour and quickly adopt fruity flavours. I personally can't stand tobacco flavours any more. Fruit is where it's at! When you find a good flavour you'll never look back, try get yourself into a good vape shop and sample some. I must have gone through 20 or so flavours before I settled on Juicy Fruit and Blueberry. I highly recommend DIY mixing when you have discovered your favourite flavours. Good work though halving your cigarette intake.....and that's even without nicotine in the liquid! Great stuff!
-
I dunno, I still like tobacco flavors, especially the Turkish blends, one thing for sure is if I drink beer I do not want to vape a fruity flavor, that is where the tobacco flavor works best.
-
Maybe I've not tried a good one. I had RY4 for a while but it wasn't for me in the end. I've got a selection of different flavour concentrates to try for DIY liquid, so maybe I'll have more luck there. I do occasionally crave a tobacco flavour when I smell someone smoking....just not had a nice, smooth one yet. Many of them seem to have a nutty-smokey flavour like Marlboro Reds which I'm not keen on.
Can't beat vaping and drinking!!

Hi Olishea,
I too am tempted to go for more mild sweet tastes.
Berries are yum, and I feel really good when vaping the vanilla.
I enjoy letting the vape run through my nose on exhaling, such a nice taste .I got a bottle of flavorless 24 mg nicotine mix (PG 70%-30%) to mix with flavor juices ('doubling').
My first observation is that any mixture with more than 12 mg nicotine is too much for me.
So I guess I will be a low nicotine vaperer .
It's not just that I feel the nicotine (in back of throat, little tingling in arms even), it's also that to me it tastes bad.
I had the opportunity to taste the difference between no nicotine and 12 mg nicotine of the same vape, and it's clear to me that the nicotine adds a bitter chemical taste.I am quite pleased by that observation, making me want to reduce nicotine intake to 0 over time .
@Rich O Brien,
Thank you for the link.
I too think that e-cigarettes will take over 'analogs', it is just crazy that we were all smoking the tobacco rubbish for years.
At the same time I remain cautious of e-cigarettes too.
As in the article, we are supposed to breath air, and anything that is chemically added to that, intuitively appears less healthy.
So I keep track if the media on health tests.
The only downside I currently experience is dehydration because the PG extracts water, thus dehydrates.
I will look into pure VG vapes, though would have to change gear for that (a glass vivi nova container perhaps?).Also , the evolution that the big current tobacco brands jump the bandwagon on e-cigs, gives me a somewhat cautious attitude.
Simply cause I don't trust them....what 'extra' products would they be adding to e-juice, that are perhaps more addictive etc...
Perhaps that is paranoia on my side, still....All in all, the e-cigarette is my mate for now .
It's the lesser evil one , and I settle for it when it can get me away from the tobacco .The Plume Room seems to be a well known store (US) for delicate mild sweet vapors so I ordered some of their blends.

Thanks for link Rich.
That's why I started DIY E-Liquid. The company I buy from batch-test all of their products in an independent laboratory (cloud9vaping). I know their stuff is safe to vape and I mix everything myself now....they're all UK and Europe sourced ingredients.
Ihighly recommend people only buy from reputable, well-established companies if you are buying pre-mixed liquids. Go with the bigger names; I know they can be slightly more expensive but worth it IMO.
I bought some E-liquid from a UK-based company importing from China a couple of months back and it made me cough so much that I reported them to trading standards. E-Liquids should never make you feel unhealthy in the slightest, if you have any problems, stop using that brand immediately and report them.
Biebel, I wouldn't worry about 'extras' because nicotine is addictive enough anyway, there really isn't anything more addictive. I just don't trust any of the chinese manufactured premixed E-liquids because bad practice can lead to contamination regardless of how safe the ingredients are. This is also the reason why I spent significantly more money on my Kayfun 3.1 and Provari setup; they are built to pharmaceutical standards using only stainless steel in the construction of the Kayfun. I couldn't be happier.
I am also on 12mg nicotine now. I had a seriously stressful few months and couldn't go below 16mg but now I'm happy with 12mg and you're right, more nicotine changes the flavour and gives a "bite". I started on 24mg and it blew my head off but it made me quit smoking instantly! A good nicotine base like the NEAT54 I am using is almost flavourless.
The better the atomizer, the less nicotine you need. With a Kayfun, for example, they recommend you halve your nicotine level because the device delivers it so well. Vivi Nova have a great name and I'm sure you won't be disappointed but if you can get your hands on a Svoemesto Kayfun then go for it, the flavour is just amazing and so consistent....they sell out almost immediately. Yes try different mixes of PG/VG before you make your mind up. I am settled on a 50/50 mix now.
For anyone who wants to DIY, I highly recommend cloud9vaping to purchase nicotine, PG, VG and flavourings. Best customer service I've ever received, great packaging and they have a very active support forum full of great people. If you need any help let me know.
With regards to pre-filled cartomizers in the toy-looking plastic cigarettes; I simply do not trust them. Apart from being cost ineffective, they are all imported from Chinese factories. That's why I do not oppose testing and regulation of E-liquids....there is nothing to stop even a beginner like me making a website and selling my own E-Liquids as the law currently stands.
At the end of the day, I feel and look significantly healthier. I don't have a smoker's cough anymore, I don't have any horrible phlegm, I don't wheeze and lose breath by walking up stairs, I don't have bad skin and it's given me a big psychological boost over conquering my cigarette demons. Plus I can't bloody wait til the Sketchucation Winter School because I'll be able to ski without having to stop every 5 mins to catch my breath!!! Bring it on! E-cigs have given me a new lease of life.
I am looking for a real solution to quit smoking; not patches and chewing gum....I have not had a cigarette in months and it would never cross my mind to do so again. We're in the 21st century; it's about time we had a 21st century solution!
It's funny how people are cautious over E-cigs but for years we've been smoking cancer-causing tobaccos that are proven to contain a vast plethora of dangerous chemicals. JUST BAN CIGARETTES ALREADY!! WE WOULDN'T EVEN BE VAPING IF WE HADN'T BEEN ADDICTED IN THE FIRST PLACE!! JUST BAN THEM!!

Ooooh ....just got myself a Kangertech Pro tank to fit on my EGO twist battery mod.
What a great vaping experience. Nice rich taste and lot's and lot's of vape.
I surround myself with clouds and let the vapour flow everywhere ...feels like smoking pipe lol .Still waiting on more overseas 12 mg e-juice.
More and more the tobacco juices get my intrest.
Especially with a tank it works well.I went down from 20 cigarettes to 10 in the first few days and now I am on 5.
Getting there . -
I found my mother a nice tobacco flavour called Silky. I bought the flavour concentrate and mixed up a batch with 8% flavouring and it was perfect. Lots of tobacco flavours are overpowering but this one is just great.
I've been vaping 12mg Juicy Fruit for the past couple of weeks. Just mixed a batch of blueberry at 12mg with 8% flavouring; gonna let it steep for a few days and then enjoy! It smells divine!
Yes the Kangertech Protank is a lovely looking atomizer. To people who haven't seen one, here is an intro video below:
I'll add the protank to the original post testers, let us know how you get on with it.

Hello everyone!
It's been three months since my last cigarette. I'm celebrating right now, with a big cup of coffee, and a nice "american blend" tobacco flavour. Pete started one day ahead me, so is one day older. I vape tobacco flavours for like a month, I don't want fruity flavours any more. I think, because of the heat outside. I have a great time vaping a mix of 75% PG 25% VG e-liquid (LiQua).
Chris, protank is great, I don't use it mainly because of the look on a ego battery. I like them to be flush. If I had a Provari, I definitely used a flat ring around the atomiser connection. And by the way, I'm using protank 1.8 ohm head right now with my evod tank. It's great, I got nice vapours, not so cold like the original evod heads (resistances). They feet seamless.
Regards,
StefanEDIT: I've just searched for Oli images of his rig, and he have that flat ring I was referring to. That's how a rig should look like.

It's funny how we keep changing flavours! It's nice to mix things up every now and then isn't it! I didn't vape tobacco flavour for months but now I have the occasional night where I enjoy some Silky tobacco flavour.
Yeah I think protank looks a bit top-heavy on a small battery, it would look better with a 22mm mod. But if it vapes like a champ keep going! Looks like you've also caught a bad case of "shinyitis"....addiction to all shiny vaping gear!! There is no cure!
Congratulations, three months is a massive achievement! You should be proud!

If anyone wants to kick the nic I'd suggest spending a couple of weeks in Vancouver! I'm just back from there and must say that I really felt like a leper when smoking in public! There was no possibility of having a cig in designated areas in pubs. They do not exit!
-
Hi Mike ,
I sympathise.
Never been to Vancouver, however West-Australia where I currently live is not far off.
It's the so called 'nanny State', no smoking at the beach, not near malls etc...
Some pubs still have an outdoor smoking area, but most expect you to go on the street.
The last few years I kind of felt guilty each time I lit up in public.
The bonding with other smokers got better, the lepers together lol .@Olishea ,
Ooooh O just put in some Blueberry too and it's simply delicious .
It's the 12 mg Blueberry e-juice of Mount Baker Vaper. A gentle taste.
Usually I don't like the profound fruity ones as they taste like soap or candles smell , and I am kind of allergic to soap fragrancesas they tend to go straight to my sinuses .I agree, the Evods look so slick on the Ego Twist, all flush and good looking like a fancy ball point.
The Pro Tank looks very clunky like medical equipment of the early 1900's .
But my goodness, the vape on them is just gorgeous ..
The Evods are my carry around vape, Iove the colors on them.A picture of my walk around setup
-
It's good how you can select the PG/VG ratio in the Mount Baker e-liquids. That's another reason why I started mixing my own; it was hard to find a good 50/50 mix that suits me.
In UK you are allowed to vape indoors but some pubs just don't understand. It really frustrates me because smoking ban almost destroyed the pub industry over here; vaping should be embraced. The big pub chains say that e-cigs make real smokers want to smoke indoors, using the argument "If they can do it, why can't I?". It almost makes me want to set up my own Vape Cafรฉ!
The blueberry liquid I've made smells exactly like fresh blueberries. I make 25ml batches and let them steep for a few days to bring out the flavour, it really is a labour of love! Very easy though if you get some 1ml syringes for accurate measuring.
I tried a Dekang blueberry flavour a while back and it was really quite bad; more like raspberry. Would not recommend.
Having a coffee and a vape right now, just finishing off my last bit of juicy fruit and looking forward to the blueberry.

Vaping at 400 WATTS!!! Crazy man!!
-
That guy looks like a good friend of mine, John! John is a non smoker and always on my back about smoking ... must show him the vid
-
I bet it has a great throat hit!! I love how he just gives up at the end!!

This is the world we live in. I'll have to start the war with nicotine. Anyone want to move to Mars?

I kind of hold the middle ground in the law thing.
It is beneficial to have some kind of quality check as to what goes into e-liquids.
For instance, I bought a 24 mg nicotine bottle from 'some' NZ company, can I really be sure that it has good quality in it at the right content?
A little regulation, similar as what goes on for the food industry is very reasonable. However, what seems to be going on is that 'regulating e-cigarettes as medicine' possibly wil kill the e-cigarette industry and leaves it over to the big pharma and tobacco industry, the only ones able to invest the millions of dollars to comply.
Yes, that is very sad.
On a positive note, I can say I am fully smoke free for 3 days now using e-cigarettes and it feels darn good .

Looks like it will be quite a while (if ever) before they try and medicalise e-ciagrettes.
From a vaping forum....
*Yesterday the ENVI committee voted to pass amendment 57 of the Tobacco Products Directive. Here is a summary of amendment 57 from the ENVI committee, and what this could mean for tobacco products and electronic cigarettes. You will see that they propose electronic cigarettes be medicalised.
This was somewhat expected, though still disappointing.
Amendment 57 is a report of what the ENVI committee believe should be in the TPDโ this is not yet law.
This is what the ENVI committee would like to see as TPD law โ but there are still a few hurdles that need to be jumped through first before this can happen.
โขThe ENVI report has to be put to the EU Parliament on the 9th September, where every MEP has โ allegedly โ a free vote. We still have time to influence MEPยดs who have not made a decision regarding how they feel about electronic cigarettes.
โขThe JURI committee stated in their opinion that to medicalise e โcigarettes is illegal. The JURI committee is the legal committee tasked with scrutinising the TPD, and if they have stated it will be illegal, then it will be.
Precedent has already been set where Judges have ruled that e-cigarettes are not a medicine, so even if the EU Parliament want to medicalise electronic cigarettes and this is voted through parliament, they still may not be able to pass into law due to legal grounds.*
-
It makes me sad to read the legislation lobby on making e-cigarettes less available (and call it a medicin).
In following article it is stated that 1 out of 4 smokers wanting to quit, uses the e-cigarette.
And as the people here in this thread already experience, including me, it's one hell of an efficient stop smoking manner. An excerpt :
"The world has gone mad when tobacco is less regulated than products designed to end tobacco use. Thousands of people have given up smoking thanks to e-cigarettes. For the EU to over regulate them is completely counter-productive and hypocritical."
