      Hello New to SketchyPhysics and was wondering if i could simulate a wire bending around a rod. and how it would be done thank you in advance.

        Just speculating here, but you might have to change that wire into a sequence of elements, each as a convex hull. How smooth the wire would be is entirely up to how many discrete segments there are in the wire.
        Or, this may be more achievable in Blender?

        I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.
