Eric, I can see why you are interested in Moboto.
Did you 'sign up'?
-
Meh...
-
I'm sorry but I really don't get it
-
Would anyone actually buy this, or even use it?
-
I wouldn't, this clip only shows an animated eye and customised alarm, I really don't get it
-
But they are so cute...
It seems you can't dock with a case either so not very useful there.
-
So my i-Wotsit can now be my "companion and side-kick", hmmm...

Are "friends" electric? Only mine broke down, and now I've no-one to love.

Tamagochi? Furbies? Space Hoppers? - yup, it will most likely get its 15mins of fame before folks get bored of it and drift on to the next pointless waste of the world's resources.
If the guy is lucky, he'll be able to sell up 5mins before the craze dies, at an insanely inflated price, to the Sirius Cybernetic Corporation - Marvin, the paranoid android, and irritatingly cheerful electric doors coming soon! Oh, joy. -

Pete, I think this will most definitely be a non finisher. Its only achieved 5% of the require $400,000 and I can't see it getting anywhere near that figure. I have a feeling the developers have been very unrealistic in their target figure of $400K in the first place.
Here is an example IMO of how a project should be launched and priced. Its Smarter Stand, the idea is a good one at $10. The guy has, in a short time, exceeded his development figure and International shipping is free! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/257195260/smarter-stand-for-ipad?ref=history
